Wishing a "Happy Canada Day" to all our Canadian members, whether you are celebrating in Canada or elsewhere.

Zeta Psi Fraternity was the first fraternity to expand to Canada, and has become the largest fraternity in Canada. The Zeta Psi Foundation of Canada is proud to support academic excellence and scholarship, member education, and leadership develop for young people across Canada.

Why not celebrate this great work with a donation to support and celebrate Zeta Psi? Consider:

$18.79 - in honour of being the first fraternity to expand into Canada
$79.00 - to celebrate the establishment of the Zeta Psi Foundation of Canada in 1979.
$130.00 - to honour the 13 Canadians who have served as Phi Alpha of Zeta Psi Fraternity.
$147.00 - to recognize the number of years that Zeta Psi has dominated in Canada

Or, any other amount that appeals to you.

The Zeta Psi Foundation of Canada was saddened by the loss of its president, Brian McCready (Chi Gamma/Calgary '99), three months.ago. If Brian impacted your life in any way, please consider making your donation in his memory.

Remembering Speedy

There was a nice sendoff for Speedy in Calgary last week, but many, many people who knew him were not able to make the trip there. So, the Zeta Psi Foundation of Canada will be hosting a Zoom event on Sunday, May 3rd, at 4pm EDT.

This will be a chance to raise a glass in Speedy's memory, share your favourite Speedy story, and give him a good-bye from his Brothers from around the globe.

If you would like to be invited to this event, please contact Barth Gillan ([email protected]).

NOTICE FROM THE ZETA PSI FOUNDATION OF CANADA

Brian “Speedy” McCready, Chi Gamma (Calgary) ‘99

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of “Speedy” last week. “Speedy” had been a loyal and proud member of Zeta Psi since his initiation almost 30 years ago: he was a stalwart Elder for the Chi Gamma Chapter, especially during some of the years when the Chapter was struggling; he has met many Zetes over the decades through his regular attendance at Zeta Psi conventions and Founder’s Day dinners; he had mentored many younger Zetes the Zeta Psi ritual through his zealous involvement in the Ritual Committee and The Torch program; and he had served for the past two years as the President of the Zeta Psi Foundation of Canada.

The Zeta Psi Foundation of Canada truly appreciates the leadership that he has provided and will be holding a wake for “Speedy” over Zoom, in the near future. If you would like to participate please contact Barth Gillan ([email protected]). Donations in memory of “Speedy” can be made to the Zeta Psi Foundation of Canada, helping to keep his legacy alive through the creation of a new scholarship in his name.

As you prepare to ring in the new year with family, friends .... and probably your Zete Brothers, please include a donation to the Zeta Psi Foundation of Canada as one of your last acts of 2025. Remember, if you donate before midnight today you will get a charitable tax receipt for 2025.

The Zeta Psi Foundation of Canada will use your support to provide scholarships, to support member education and leadership training in Canada, and will be ready to provide emergency funding to those impacted by unforeseen circumstances. We cannot do those things without the donations from Zetes like you.

Online donations can be made at CanadaHelps.org. If you made your gift recently, we are grateful for your generosity.

We appreciate your support and wish you a Happy New Year.

In Tau Kappa Phi.
