The Black Canadian Community Cultural Centre of New Brunswick - BCCCC NB was honored to participate, this past March 28, in the Conference and Gala "๐—ช๐—ผ๐—บ๐—ฒ๐—ป ๐—ฎ๐˜ ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—–๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐˜€๐˜€๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐—ฎ๐—ฑ๐˜€: ๐—–๐—ผ๐—บ๐—ฏ๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด ๐——๐—ผ๐—บ๐—ฒ๐˜€๐˜๐—ถ๐—ฐ ๐—ฉ๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—น๐—ฒ๐—ป๐—ฐ๐—ฒ" held at the Chรขteau Hotel in Moncton.

In the afternoon, we attended an insightful conference (from 2 PM to 4 PM) focused on awareness and practical protection tools, followed by the community Gala in the evening (from 6 PM to 10 PM) dedicated to solidarity and resilience.

We would like to extend our warmest congratulations to the Women for Dignity and Development Foundation-WODIDEF and the Association des Congolais du Congo Kinshasa du Nouveau Brunswick (๐—”๐—–๐—–๐—ž-๐—ก๐—•) for organizing this vital event. We are proud to highlight that ACCK-NB is a member organization of our Center.

Thanks to the expertise of panelists such as Yvette Ashiri, Me Alexandre LEBRETON, Ms. Deborah Baganda, and Ms. Gloria Kamba, this gathering helped break the silence and provided information on available resources without risk to immigration status.

The Black Canadian Community Cultural Centre of New Brunswick - BCCCC NB reaffirms its commitment to the safety, dignity, and well-being of all women in New Brunswick. Together, let us continue to build bridges and strengthen solidarity within our communities.

On March 26, 2026, the Black Canadian Community Cultural Centre of New Brunswick - BCCCC NB had the privilege of welcoming a delegation from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police as part of the Race-Based Data Collection (RBDC) Initiative.
This meeting is part of a national effort aimed at:
๐Ÿ“Š Better understanding the experiences of Indigenous, Black and racialized communities in their interactions with law enforcement

๐Ÿ” Collecting objective data to inform policy decisions and strengthen community trust

๐ŸŒ Exploring collaboration opportunities with community organizations in New Brunswick

The RBDC initiative is currently being piloted at four sites across Canada and will be expanding to Sackville, New Brunswick in 2026. The Black Canadian Community Cultural Centre of New Brunswick (BCCCC-NB) is proud to be among the voices consulted in this important process.

We firmly believe that reliable, equity-informed data is essential for building fairer institutions and safer communities. This kind of dialogue between community organizations and federal institutions is exactly the collaboration we need to drive meaningful, lasting change.
