Recycle Styrofoam in Canada The Canadian Foam Recyclers Association is a Not for profit association dedicated to diverting Styrofoam from the landfill.

Styrofoam is a highly recyclable material and should be recycled properly! Styrofoam is now recyclable

Canadian Foam Recyclers Association can now recycle expanded polystyrene (Styrofoam) from all municipalities. In 2010 we recycled over 500 metric tonnes of baled Styrofoam from municipalities such as City of Kingston, Ottawa Valley, City of Waterloo, etc. All of this material was collected through the Blue Box Program. To date this has been very successful in diverting this waste from landfills. We have worked closely with Waste Diversion Ontario and the Canadian Plastics Industry Association in this project. Smaller municipalities are able to combine materials on one load. As most municipalities have contractors to process their waste and recyclables we have found that the council members and decision makers are not aware of the availability of this program.
