This would be great to have in Mississauga…

In Saskatchewan, Canada, the Regina Food Bank has launched what is being described as the country’s first full scale free grocery store. Designed to look and feel like a regular supermarket, the space includes aisles, shopping carts, fresh produce, and stocked refrigerators, giving families the freedom to choose what they need rather than receiving pre packed food boxes.

Registered households can visit every two weeks and select up to 200 Canadian dollars worth of groceries, enough to cover about a week or more of meals while respecting dietary needs, allergies, and cultural preferences. Organizers say the model could help serve significantly more people than traditional systems, made possible by community support and major donations. It is a new approach to addressing food insecurity, centered on dignity, choice, and access.

And Mississauga does too.

He didn’t donate money.
He built homes. 🏘️❤️

In Fredericton, a Canadian entrepreneur named Marcel LeBrun used his own fortune to do something rare.

He built 99 complete homes for people experiencing homelessness.

After selling his tech company, Marcel invested his personal wealth into creating 12 Neighbours—a village of small but fully equipped houses.

Each home is about 240 square feet, with:

a kitchen

a bathroom

a living area

a bedroom

and solar panels for clean energy

But he didn’t stop at housing.

Inside the community, Marcel created a business hub where residents can work as baristas, carpenters, printers, or in small on-site workshops—earning steady income and rebuilding independence.

Rent is income-based and subsidized.
Support is ongoing.
Dignity comes first.

For people who once slept in cars, shelters, or on the street, this wasn’t charity.

It was a second chance.

One decision.
One person.
Hundreds of lives changed forever. 🤲🏻💸✨
