A Gift of Hope 🎁 Our members were able to donate 18 wish list items to Liam's Mission's Holiday Toy Drive for SickKids, to bring smiles to the faces of children facing illness. Let's spread love this holiday season ❤️

An important notice from Fandom Forward:
We have a bittersweet announcement to make. After a lot of thought, consideration, and discussion, the Board and Senior Staff of Fandom Forward have decided that it is time to bring our organization’s journey to a close.
2024 marks Fandom Forward’s 19th year as an organization. To reference our original fandom, after 19 years of doing this work, it feels like the right time to write our epilogue.

Let's help make this holiday season extra special for SickKids patients 🎁🎄They're bringing back Liam’s SickKids Holiday Toy Drive and they need our help! Halton Hallows will be collecting new, unwrapped toys (swipe to see a list of needed items) during the month of November to donate to this wonderful cause! This month, let's help with their Comfort Kit initiative by collecting items on their wish list 💙

These comfort kits are given out to anyone who unexpectedly arrives at the hospital, often with nothing. Liam's Mission will be delivering the kits to Milton and Georgetown Hospitals and they're working along side WeeCare to deliver to Hamilton and London Hospitals. The kits include useful items like a notepad and pen, hand cream, mints/gum, hygiene products, snacks, gift cards, and more.

Fandom Forward wants to wish you a very Happy New Year 🎆 Our community is hard at work season after season, turning fans into heroes, and this year was no exception.

⭐️ Supporting the labor rights of Disney workers
⭐️ Promoting climate justice & LGBTQ+ rights

Passionate fans like you make activism all the more joyful, hopeful, and fun, and we’re so happy that we were able to accomplish so much with your help. And that’s a WRAP on Book Defenders Campaign for 2023!! 🎊🎉 Woo hoo!! Congratulations to our Book Defenders Award winners over at Halton Hallows 🥳🥳🥳

Phew. Let’s take a moment to reflect on your achievements this year:
- 421 books were donated in 8 different states and 2 countries (the US and Canada) – almost all to Little Free or Public Libraries!
- 149 people signed the petition for our friends at VHS banned book club,
68 of the total books donated were BANNED BOOKS featuring people of color, LGBTQIA+ people and/or disabled people as main characters or as the author(s),
- And 75 people benefitted from our toolkit resources (we had two BD related toolkits this year!)

Book Defenders, it’s because of your dedication to uncensored learning, uplifting marginalized voices, and the joys of story-telling that we are able to run this campaign in the first place. By supporting this campaign you’re not only supporting Fandom Forward, you’re supporting future generations — future thinkers, writers, movers and shakers — to start the conversation around important topics in society and propel them forward to make change happen. This is an invaluable gift.

Seriously. We thank you for your time, effort, and energy in making this campaign a success.

We're getting into the holiday spirit early this year! Last year, Halton Hallows helped donate 200 stockings to the SickKids Foundation! For Liam's Mission’s 2nd Annual SickKids Holiday Project, they’re doing a HOLIDAY TOY DRIVE for the SickKids Foundation and the Hospital for Sick Children from now until December 3rd (Swipe for some suggested items to donate) 🧸🎁 Let’s help Liam’s Mission to spread joy and love this upcoming holiday season!
