Autumn arrives at 8:04 p.m. this evening.

I long for autumn’s fallen leaves,
their crunch beneath my feet,
their earthy scent of endings.
Yet beneath the dying leaves,
new life waits in silence.
Perhaps death is not the end,
but the earth making room
for what has yet to become.

Another lovely afternoon at the Bognor Coffee House. ☕🎶

We filled the hours with stories, poetry, and song. Familiar faces returning, new faces walking through the door, and strangers slowly becoming friends.

That’s the magic of a coffee house, I think. We come to share something of ourselves, and somehow leave with a little more of each other.

Thank you to everyone who came, listened, performed, laughed, and helped make the room feel like home.

We’ll gather again Sunday, September 27th.

Come as you are. Bring a song, a poem, a story ... or simply a listening ear.

There’s always room at the coffee house. ❤️☕

I am still learning.

Her voice is gone now.

But somewhere,

"Talkin' 'bout the concert coming up in Oct.

I'm calling it "Let's Tell You What The Poets (these ones, anyway) Are Doing" and allow me to introduce the featured performers for the show.

(I got the title idea as a take off on The Tragically Hip's song titled "Poets". That song " is a satirical and reflective song about the commercialization of art, cultural hypocrisy,".)
and for these reasons: 1. The Tragically Hip are cool. ...... 2 Gord Downie is cool. ... and 3. That song just sounds so cool.

Well, this concert won't be "commercial" but it will be aimed to please, and do that in a manner that is tangible, and ,at times, seriously reflective of the everyday world we live in, and at times humerous.

Each of the featured performers brings a different style up to the microphone, but I think it's safe to say, they all care. So the show will have some entertaining, and caring variety,- and I think that's a good thing, because when it comes down to it, variety is the spice of both life and good shows.

When and Where?? Friday, Oct. 16th, 7:30 to 10:00 (doors around 7) at The Harmony Centre Owen Sound, lower banquet hall (where the chairs are movable, so you can get right up close if you want). The price of admission?? It's Pay What You're Comfortable With ... and that means it's free if that's what you're comfortable with. But there will be a donation jar or box or whatever, and between 10 and 20 dollars would be nice..... just to help cover our expenses and hopefully offer each guest performer some reward for his or her efforts.... but, bottom line??: Just come if you're able to... a nice audience makes it more fun and helps get the juices flowin' for the performers.
