Please note that Ihdzí will be CLOSED Monday, August 10.

Tuesday through Saturday, stop by between 10:00 AM–1:00 PM for fresh baking, good company, and a visit!

Fresh baking is available while supplies last, so come early!

🎉 WHAT A WAY TO WRAP UP IHDZÍ KIDS! 🎉

Today was our final day of the summer Ihdzí Kids program, and Market Day was a huge success! ❤️

Over the past week, these kids took their ideas and turned them into real products. They learned, created, harvested, baked, packaged, priced, marketed and today sold what they made to the community!

They created Yukon-inspired products using locally harvested plants
Made body scrubs, lip balms, salves, teas and more...
Created beeswax wraps
Baked and sold their own treats
Created and sold their own lemonade blends
Designed products, labels and displays
Learned about pricing, sales, customer service and entrepreneurship and ......most importantly, worked together and supported one another!

A huge Mussi to everyone who came through the doors today, bought something from the kids, tried their lemonade, encouraged them and helped make their first market such a success. You showed these young entrepreneurs that their ideas and hard work have value.

And this isn't the end.....Ihdzí Kids Club (idea from the kids!) will begin in September! Im glad to oblige ;-) ❤️

To celebrate everything they accomplished, we'll be bringing the group back together for a make-your-own pizza and movie night!

The extra funds earned through the market will go right back into Ihdzí Kids Club, helping us continue this momentum and create more opportunities for kids to learn, make, experiment and build their entrepreneurial skills.

AND… we now have an IHDZÍ KIDS CORNER at Ihdzí! 🥳

This will be a special space where children from our community can showcase and sell the beautiful things they create. We want young people to know that their creativity, skills and ideas belong here.

This week was about so much more than making things to sell. It was about food sustainability, connection to the land, creativity, confidence, teamwork and showing kids that they are capable of turning an idea into something real.
We are so proud of what they accomplished.

Mussi cho to our kids, families and everyone in the community who helped make this week such a success.

Ihdzí Kids have been BUSY!

Tomorrow is MARKET DAY, and today was all about getting ready!

The kids spent the day finishing products, preparing food, setting prices, and getting everything ready to share with the community. They’ve taken their ideas from start to finish, learning that running a small business means a whole lot more than just making something!

Today they: • Finished and priced their Ihdzí Kids products
• Made cake pops and got an official taste test from our local RCMP Officer Brooke
• Practiced food preparation and kitchen safety
• Prepared snacks and food together
• Washed, chopped, mixed, baked and cleaned up
• Learned about pricing, presentation and getting products market-ready
• Worked as a team to prepare for their big day tomorrow And look at what they’ve created!

Yukon Forest Tea, Yukon Seasoning Blends, Firew**d & Rose products, bath soaks, body scrubs, salves, lip balms and more! All featuring local and wild-harvested ingredients.

Tomorrow they get to put everything they’ve learned into action!

Another fun and productive day with the Ihdzí Kids!

Our young entrepreneurs continued working hard as they created even more handmade products for this week's Kids Market at Ihdzí’. Every item is made by the kids while they learn what it takes to build a business. From harvesting ingredients to creating, packaging, and preparing products for customers.

Today we:
Learned about medicinal herbs and their traditional and modern uses.
Explored the importance of sustainable and respectful wild harvesting.
Sorted and prepared wild harvested plants for products.
Created herbal salves, lotion bars, sugar scrubs and bath salts using infused oils and natural ingredients.
Created Yukon Spruce tip salt and beautiful rose sugar.
Blended Yukon-inspired herbal tea mixes.
Learned about the benefits of different herbs and how they're used.
Practiced measuring, mixing, and multiplying recipes.
Learned how quality products start with quality ingredients.
Continued building teamwork, creativity, confidence, and entrepreneurship skills.

Watching the kids gain confidence, solve problems together, and take pride in their work has been incredible. They're not just making products, they're learning valuable life skills, connecting with the land, and discovering what it means to be an entrepreneur.

Tomorrow they will make cake pops, finalize their logo and design labels and learn to price items for the market on Friday.

We can't wait to share everything they've created with the community!

Yesterday our young entrepreneurs headed outdoors to enjoy a picnic lunch surrounded by nature before getting creative with one of our market products. The kids designed and made beautiful Yukon-inspired wooden desk sitters using woodland animals and nature-themed artwork.

We explored the trails together, learning to identify and respectfully harvest local plants that we'll be using in today's herbal products. Everything the kids are making this week is helping them learn about entrepreneurship, creativity, traditional knowledge, and local sustainability as they prepare for Friday's Youth Market.

Today we're turning yesterday's harvest into handcrafted herbal products!

From the Land to Ihdzí to you! 🌿

These photos are just a small glimpse of what our community harvesters have been bringing in!

Fresh spruce tips, Saskatoon berries, wild rose petals, yarrow, firew**d, and more are being transformed into teas, infused oils, bath products, and other locally inspired creations. Right now, many of these wild harvested ingredients are being used by our young entrepreneurs in the Ihdzí Kids Entrepreneurship Program as they create products for the upcoming Youth Market.

We're always looking for more community harvesters!

If you enjoy spending time on the land and know how to harvest respectfully, we'd love to hear from you. We purchase a variety of seasonal wild foods and medicinal plants to support our programs and locally made products.

We're currently looking for:
Spruce pitch
Firew**d leaves and flowers
Yarrow
Wild rose petals and rose hips
Labrador tea
Pineapple w**d
Saskatoon berries
Cranberries
Wild raspberries
Bear root

And other edible or medicinal plants that you are knowledgeable about
Please remember to harvest sustainably so these plants continue to thrive for future generations.
