🎉 Happy Buster Days, Martensville! 🎉
The members of the Rocky Ridge Rail Exhibitor Society would like to wish everyone a safe and enjoyable Buster Days weekend.

While you're out enjoying the festivities, be sure to stop by and support the many volunteers and community groups that help make this event possible. We're proud to be part of a community that knows how to come together and celebrate.

If you're attending the Beer Gardens on Sunday afternoon, keep an eye out for some familiar faces from our club. Our volunteers will be helping out behind the scenes to keep things running smoothly.

Have a great weekend, enjoy the festivities, and we'll see you around town......

Meanwhile, in Martensville....Music Bingo!

Big congratulations to Swift Current on hosting their 1st Annual Train Show this weekend.

It was great to see people out enjoying the hobby, talking trains, and supporting the local model railroad community.

Also great seeing the Moose Jaw Thunder Creek Model Railroad Club out supporting the event alongside the Rocky Ridge Model Railroad Club.

Here’s hoping this becomes a yearly tradition. 🚂

FROM DUST TO RUST — PART 6

The old RediMix district is almost completely gone now, replaced by rust, steel, heavy machinery, rail traffic, and decades of imagined history.

The details are starting to connect:
Tracks.
Equipment.
Loading areas.
Scrap piles.
Industrial debris.
Operational flow.

Every piece now has a purpose.

It's all taking shape - except for?

What is this place called?

😁Well, that remains a work in progress.....The Swift Current show is only a couple days away.

You can wait until then, right?

FROM DUST TO RUST — PART 5

The closer you look…
the more stories you find!

Many of the parts now buried in this scene started as raw white 3D prints only days ago.

Now they’re covered in rust, grime, faded paint, and years of imaginary prairie weather.

That’s one of our favorite parts of this hobby:
taking something brand new…
and making it feel like it has survived decades beside the tracks 🙂

FROM DUST TO RUST — PART 4

If you want to move serious weight…you build beside the rails.

As the new industry continues taking shape, rail traffic is becoming part of the story.

Heavy castings.
Industrial scrap.
Oversized machinery.
Loads too large for ordinary trucking.

This scene is beginning to feel alive now.

Messy.
Weathered.
Industrial.

Exactly the way we hoped it would.

FROM DUST TO RUST — PART 3

Something has definitely moved in.

The empty industrial lot that once served the RediMix plant is beginning to fill with steel, machinery, scrap, and stories.

Some of these pieces look abandoned.
Some look freshly delivered.
Some probably haven’t moved since the 1980s.

The goal with this scene was never “junk.”

It was history.

The kind of industrial corner every prairie city used to have hidden beside the tracks.

FROM DUST TO RUST — PART 2

The old RediMix district is disappearing faster than expected.

What started as a few scattered changes has turned into a complete industrial upheaval.

Concrete is giving way to dirt.
Clean lines are being replaced with rust, debris, and heavy equipment.

Stay tuned.....
