**COURTESY POST**

Please reach out to the owner with any information.

From the owner :

Hello we live 6 minutes south of Sicamous on Maraheights Road. Our black MainCoon cat named Goldy left the house when the wind blew the door open about 1:30 pm on Saturday. She is an indoor cat and was likely pretty scared. Being just off the highway perhaps someone picked her up. Please keep your eyes open. 778-879-0097. Thank you $500 reward for return of Goldy.

She's been spayed, had her flea treatment, been dewormed and has had her first round of shots.

This is our neighbourhood social butterfly and the keeper of the Malakwa Suspension Bridge, Arlo.

He’s been missing for a week now. his dog is missing him and so are his family.

If anyone has seen him or even knows if something happened to him please reach out to us or the family. If you prefer to stay anonymous we can arrange for that as well.

There's a $200 reward for help in his return, even if he's already crossed the rainbow bridge.

This is an amazing step in the right direction.

Major win for animals! 🐢🎉

PetSmart just announced in their 2025 Corporate Social Responsibility report that they are no longer selling turtles or tortoises.

For years, thousands of you have joined us in calling on major retailers to put animal welfare first. Turtles and tortoises – like all wild animals – belong in the wild, not in homes. These long-lived species (who may even outlive their owners) have specialized needs that are almost impossible to fully meet in captivity, and quickly overwhelm limited specialty shelter options. Improper nutrition, lighting and humidity can lead to problems like shell deformation, metabolic bone disease, plus other infections and disease – disease risk is not just for the animals, but also a risk for people too.

PetSmart’s decision is an important move toward ending the suffering associated with the exotic pet trade.

We believe retailers like PetSmart have to be part of the solution. It’s why we continue to bring our expertise and the voices of our supporters directly to the table with them.

Since our first meeting with PetSmart in 2022, we’ve seen the company develop an animal welfare policy and phase out the sale of wild animals including Cuban false chameleons, fancy bearded dragons, Bahaman anoles, red claw crabs and several species of snake. We go into these discussions constructively, collaboratively and optimistically, but also critically and with high expectations that once companies know better, they will do better for animals.

We’re excited to see this decision from PetSmart, and we can’t wait to see what comes next.
