A look back at an incredible team day with Equipco Ltd 🎥🛠

Thanks to their sponsorship and hands-on support, we were able to give new life to a Habitat home with some fresh flooring and helped prepare it for its next family.

Habitat for Humanity Team Days are filled with teamwork, dedication, and plenty of great moments along the way. It’s partnerships like these that make a lasting impact in our community 💙

A special thank you again to Scherba & Co for generously donating the flooring and helping bring this project together.

🎉 Congratulations to Johanna Gordon & her Grade 6 class at Onondaga Brant Public School (Grand Erie District School Board) 🎉

Habitat for Humanity Canada and Habitat for Humanity Heartland Ontario are proud to celebrate Johanna as one of this year’s teacher winners of the Meaning of Home Contest. 🏡💛

Johanna’s dedication, guidance, and encouragement continue to inspire her students to explore what “home” truly means through creativity and writing. Educators like her play an essential role in making this program such a meaningful and impactful experience!

As a token of appreciation, Johanna received a gift card to support her classroom. She plans to use it for art supplies and to host a fun year-end celebration for her students! 🎨🎉

Thank you, Johanna, for your commitment to your students and for helping bring the spirit of the Meaning of Home contest to life.

Habitat for Humanity Heartland Ontario was grateful to attend the AGM and Celebration hosted by Oxford Community Foundation, followed by an important community conversation surrounding housing needs in Oxford County.

With 180 individuals currently identifying as actively homeless, the evening highlighted both the urgency of the need and the importance of collective action. We heard from community leaders, city representatives, and the Imagine Build team, including Mandi Fields, Lynn Davis, and Doug Tarry.

A message that deeply resonated throughout the evening was the connection between health and housing, and the belief shared by Doug Tarry that housing is a human right. Safe, stable housing is foundational to building stronger individuals, families, and communities.

The evening reinforced the power of partnership and what is possible when organizations, leaders, and communities come together with a shared purpose. We are grateful to be part of these important conversations and are ready to play a role in helping create affordable homeownership opportunities and housing solutions for the future — together.

A huge thank you to the team at Equipco Ltd for their sponsorship and support during yesterday's team day!
We recently had the opportunity to complete a buyback on a Habitat home, and wanted to give it a fresh new look for the next family! With Equipco's time, energy, and skills we were able to install brand-new flooring and bring new life into the space.

It was a day full of hard work, laughter and community spirit! 💙

Special thanks to Scherba & Co for generously donating the flooring and helping make this transformation possible.

👉 Interested in sponsoring an upcoming team day with us? Reach out and we'd love to have you involved!

💡♻️ Big news across Heartland ReStores!
We’ve teamed up with Product Care Recycling to make light bulb recycling easier than ever. All Habitat for Humanity Heartland ReStore locations now have dedicated bins where you can safely drop off your used bulbs (LEDs, CFLs, incandescent, and fluorescent tubes included).

Instead of tossing them in the trash, bring them to your local ReStore and help keep harmful materials out of landfills while supporting a more sustainable community! ✨
