Kawartha Lakes Longbeards first Youth Turkey Calling Contest!

06/07/2026

We had an incredible time today at the Kawartha Traditional Archery Center for our first-ever Youth Turkey Calling Contest!

The sun was shining, the weather was perfect, and we were thrilled with the great turnout. A huge thank you to all the youth participants who came out to test their calling skills, as well as the parents, families, and volunteers who helped make the day such a success.

The event featured plenty of great prizes, awesome Canadian Wild Turkey Federation merchandise, our mascot, Tom, cold drinks, and lots of fun. Most importantly, it was a fantastic opportunity to introduce young hunters and outdoor enthusiasts to the tradition of turkey calling.

We’d like to extend a special thank you to our sponsors for their generous support:

• Kawartha Traditional Archery
• Easthill Outdoors
• Castle Stone Contracting
• CWTF

Your support helped make this event possible, and we couldn’t have done it without you.

Thank you to everyone who attended and helped create a memorable day. We look forward to making next year’s Youth Turkey Calling Contest even bigger and better!

We are watching the weather closely and despite the rains across the region today, Sunday is looking like a sunny day for our Youth Turkey Calling Contest.

If the weather doesn't go our way, we will reschedule for a date to be announced.

Stay tuned and we look forward to seeing you tomorrow!

Join us this Sunday for our Youth Turkey Calling Contest!

Whether your young hunter is just getting started or already loves chasing gobblers, this is a great opportunity to have some fun, test their calling skills, and connect with fellow outdoors enthusiasts.

We’ve got some great CWTF swag up for grabs, including the items pictured below!

Just a reminder that this is a cash-only event. All proceeds help support your local Canadian Wild Turkey Federation chapter, the Kawartha Lakes Longbeards, and our efforts to promote conservation, hunting heritage, and youth outdoor programs.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Let’s see everyone’s harvest!!! Do you do your own mounts? Or have someone who does a nice job?
I had some scrap wood, drywall screws and some spare time
