WHY PLEDGES MATTER
“When you’re ready to build, we’re with you.”

A pledge lets you commit to a gift — even spread out over several years — if you can’t give the full amount today. It helps us plan responsibly, and it helps supporters give at a level that matches their capacity.

And importantly: you don’t have to give until BeLoved is ready to put a shovel in the ground.

Yes, pledges carry a bit more risk for BeLoved. But they also allow our community to step forward in faith, together, at a pace that works for each household.

Every commitment — large or small — helps move us toward building a Christian care home for seniors and the infirm in southern Alberta.

Reaching $12 million can feel overwhelming. But when we break it down, it becomes something our whole Christian community can carry together. Everyone has different capacities to give — and every bit helps.

To reach our goal, here’s what it could look like:
- $7 million in cash and pledged gifts
- $5 million in zero‑ or low‑interest loans

And here’s a breakdown of how the cash/pledge portion could be reached. A chart like this helps turn a large goal into manageable steps — showing how gifts at every level work together to move the project forward.

Our community has shown tremendous support for BeLoved Care — encouragement, praise, and a shared desire to see a Christian care home built in southern Alberta.

But for this project to become reality, we need to collectively put our shoulder to the wheel and financially back the vision.

We’ve raised $1.1 million toward our $12 million goal.
To move forward, we need cash donations, pledged gifts, and loans.

A Home Designed for Community:
We’re excited to share more of our building plans. BeLoved Care is loosely modeled after the Green House concept — small, warm, and built for daily life.

Key features of our design:
- Central kitchen & dining room — meals shared around the table.
- Central nursing station — close, personal care without feeling clinical.
- Circular layout — safe, simple walking with no dead‑ends.
- Central courtyard — lots of entrances, lots of sunlight, easy access.
- Garage — for pick‑ups, drop‑offs, and outings (includes room for handi-van).
- Recreation room — flexible space for activities and fellowship.
- Quiet sunroom — peaceful space for reading, prayer, and rest.
- Family room — a warm place for visits and celebrations.

One of the things that makes BeLoved Care different is the way our suites are designed.

Most long‑term care rooms in Alberta are small, clinical, and built around institutional workflow.
Our suites are designed around dignity, comfort, and togetherness.

*Roomy, Accessible Suites:
Every suite is fully accessible — wide doorways, smooth transitions, and space for mobility aids.
Residents can move freely without feeling cramped or restricted.

*Private, Fully Accessible Shower
Every suite includes its own private bathroom and walk‑in shower, designed for safety, independence, and dignity.
The shower is also built to support nurse‑assisted bathing when needed — with space, layout, and accessibility features that make care safe and comfortable for both resident and staff.

*A Bedroom Designed for Couples
Most suites includes one large bedroom, intentionally sized to accommodate:
- a queen or king bed, or
- two single beds,
plus dressers, a desk, and mobility equipment.

This allows married couples to stay together — something rarely available in long‑term care.

*Space for Family & Fellowship
The living area is spacious and welcoming, designed for visits, conversation, and shared life.
It feels like home, not a hospital room.

*In‑Room Kitchenette
Every suite includes a small kitchenette — perfect for morning coffee, tea with visitors, or simple snacks.
A small touch that restores normalcy and independence.

*Dedicated Storage Space
Each suite includes a private storage room for keepsakes, treasures, seasonal items, and personal belongings.
You shouldn’t have to give up everything meaningful when moving into a care home — your history, your memories, and your cherished items should come with you.

These suites reflect our commitment to honoring the dignity of every resident and supporting the kind of community life seniors and the infirm deserve.

Our Plans: A Home Designed for Dignity

BeLoved Care is not only different in our biblical foundations — we are building a different kind of home.

Our home is designed around people, family, and Christian dignity.

What Else Makes BeLoved Care Different?

Across Alberta, long‑term care homes operate within a system where Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD) is increasingly common. MAiD is legally available in many care settings, and its use continues to rise each year.

BeLoved Care is being built on a different foundation — one that affirms the God‑given dignity of every person and the sanctity of life from conception to natural death.

Two of our foundational statements express this clearly:

The Dignity of Human Life
We affirm that every human being is created in the image of God.
Regardless of age, disability, or infirmity, each person possesses inherent worth and deserves to be treated with love, respect, and honor.

The Protection of Life
We honor the commandment, “You shall not murder.”
We uphold the sanctity of life from conception to natural death and are committed to protecting and preserving life in all stages of care.

In a province where MAiD is becoming more prevalent, BeLoved Care is intentionally creating a home where life is cherished, suffering is met with compassion, and every resident is cared for as an image‑bearer of God.

This is one of the ways our Christian care‑home will be distinct — rooted in Scripture, shaped by the Reformed faith, and committed to honoring God in how we care for the aged and infirm.
