Food for Now

Food for Now At *Food for Now*, we are dedicated to serving individuals experiencing food insecurity in South Etobicoke and Toronto’s downtown hub.
(6)

Food for Now is a grassroots outreach dedicated to feeding people, restoring dignity, and strengthening community through barrier-free, street-level care for seniors, newcomers, and those facing hunger, homelessness, and isolation in South Etobicoke Our efforts are powered entirely by local businesses and public donations, reflecting the incredible generosity of our community. We are not a charity

or a non-profit organization. Instead, we believe in helping people in need, one person at a time. Several times a week, we fill a car with donations—freshly made sandwiches, fruit, soft cookies, chocolate, crackers, sardines, tuna, gently used clothing, socks, shoes, jackets, blankets. — and deliver them directly to people in needs across South Etobicoke and Toronto. Our wonderful donors and volunteers go above and beyond, preparing homemade soups, salads, sandwiches, muffins, and more, which we ensure reach those who need them most. For us, it’s not just about food or clothing but about the human connection. We ask individuals what they need in the moment, offering practical items to make life more bearable. Life can change for anyone in an instant, and we’re here to provide a little comfort and support during those challenging times.

**TGIF – Burger Day! 🍔🌭**

Another busy and rewarding day lies ahead of us. This week, we have been truly blessed with an abundance of food to share with our community. Along with pantry items, we'll be serving everyone's favorites—burgers and hotdogs—for those who need a warm meal and a friendly smile.

A special thank you goes out to Nando Tullo Desjardins Insurance Agent for his incredible generosity and support. Not only has he helped provide tonight's dinner, but he has also contributed pantry items that will help us continue serving those in need for weeks to come.

Acts of kindness like this remind us that when a community comes together, we can make a real difference in the lives of our neighbors. Please join me in expressing our heartfelt gratitude to Nando for helping us spread hope, dignity, and compassion.

Wishing everyone a wonderful Friday. Thank you for being part of this journey and for continuing to support one another.

With gratitude,

**Daniel** ❤️

Karma has a way of finding us when our hearts and actions are moving in the right direction.

Helping someone without expecting anything in return is one of life's greatest gifts. It reminds us that no matter what challenges we face, there is always someone carrying a heavier burden. A simple act of kindness can make a world of difference.

One of the hardest things to do is to give away something that is truly dear to us—whether it's our time, our resources, or something we deeply value. Yet when we find the strength to let go, we often discover a sense of gratitude, peace, and freedom that money can never buy.

The moment we stop holding on so tightly is often the moment blessings begin to flow back into our lives in unexpected ways. Not because we expect a reward, but because generosity changes our hearts and our perspective.

Let go and let God. Trust the process. Keep serving, keep loving, and keep believing that every act of kindness matters.

💙 Sometimes the greatest blessings come not from what we receive, but from what we're willing to give away.

This Friday was extra special for me because I had my grandson by my side helping to serve. He loved every minute of it. As the saying goes, the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.

At the end of the night, he looked at me and said, *“Grandpa, can we do it again?” Those words echoed in my heart then, and they will continue to do so for a long time.

Thank you to all the volunteers who gave their time and energy to make the evening such a success. Your kindness, teamwork, and dedication made it a truly memorable night. I am grateful to have shared this experience with such an amazing group of people. ❤️

TGIF. Another week has gone by, and once again our community is coming together to make sure no one is left behind. Tonight, our tables will be full of food, compassion, and support for those struggling with food insecurity.

It has been a long and productive week, and we are grateful for every volunteer, donor, and neighbor who continues to stand beside us. Because of your kindness, we are able to provide meals, groceries, and hope to so many people in our community.

As we continue to serve, we are asking for help to replenish our pantry. Donations can be brought directly to our tables during outreach. The items most needed at this time are:

* Canned soups

* Canned meat
* Kraft Dinner
* Ramen noodles
* Crackers
* Granola bars
* Pudding cups
* Jello snacks
* Water

Home sweet home. ❤️

Tonight my heart is filled with so much gratitude. After a long journey, I finally have a place of my own. From rented bedrooms over the years to now having my own one-bedroom apartment, this moment means more than words can express.

A quiet space to breathe, heal, reflect, and simply be. The inside is beautiful, but what touches me even more is the peace outside… the garden, the trees, and the birds singing in the morning. Small things that mean everything.

Life has taught me that patience matters. Accepting what is, even during difficult seasons, eventually brings us where we are meant to be. Living in the Now, letting go of resentment, choosing kindness, and helping others even when life feels heavy… somehow those things open doors we could never force open ourselves.

Selflessness, gratitude, and faith truly bring you to a special place where God quietly makes things happen in His own time.

For the first time in a long time… I feel at home. 🙏
