That is a wrap on my candidacy for the British Columbia Ambassador Program.
Deciding to run in this program was no simple yes. I spent a long time thinking about if I could do it, if it was for me. A streak of the five most recent Cowichan Lake candidates all placing as BC Ambassadors is no easy act to follow. So for this I would like to thank the Cowichan Lake community.
Thank you to my best friend, 2024/2025 BC Ambassador of Cowichan Lake, Elise Nelson. Without you by my side not only would I be lonely, but I would not be half the person I am today.
Thank you to the other half of Skateboard, Brooklyn and Desiree, who pushed me to join the program, shared every town event with me, and were my personal hype squad.
Thank you to every single person who voted for me for People's Choice, bought a raffle ticket, hot dog, or any other fundraising item of mine. Without all of you I would have never completed my fundraising goals.
Thank you to my wonderful candidacy sponsor, the Lady of the Lake Society, and my other amazing fundraising sponsors, The Town of Lake Cowichan, The Lake Cowichan Kin, Creative Angels Daycare, The Community Forest Co-Operative, and Pemberton Holmes. Your generosity does not go unnoticed.
Thank you to Jada Forrest for letting my borrow your dresses, Tracy Mitchell for allowing me to use your truck, Tim McGonigle for helping me source town pins and being one of my references, and my friends, Liv, Mason, Lara, Sunny, Lily, and Riley, who came down to Victoria and watched me compete.
And of course a big thank you to my family, both immediate and distant, for coming to my events, helping me organize fundraisers, and volunteering alongside me. It is also because of all of you that I have a certified nepo baby status, something I hold close to my heart.
I have always loved living in Cowichan Lake, and the support I have been shown during the candidacy is an exemplary reason as to why. Thank you everyone, I wouldn't be here without you.
Lastly, a thank you goes out to the Pastors, Kruks, and the all members and volunteers of the BCAP society for making this opportunity possible in the first place.
With that being said, I am so happy to announce I am 2025/2026 BC Ambassador Jenae Weir of Cowichan Lake. I will be reigning alongside 2025/2026 BC Ambassador Isabel Hinton of West Kelowna, and 2025/2026 BC Ambassador Rannde Wyatt of Trail!💚🤍
