🌈🐾 In Honour of Koda 🐾🌈

Some dogs leave paw prints that find ways to keep making a difference, even after they’re gone. 💛

Our wonderful Volunteer Keepers, Jena and Thomas of CK Animal Photography, recently celebrated one of the happiest days of their lives - their wedding. Sadly, their beloved Koda wasn’t there beside them to see it.

But he was very much a part of their special day. ❤️

In Koda’s honour, their incredibly generous wedding guests made donations to Fletcher’s Keep Senior Dog Foundation, raising an amazing $300 to help senior dogs in need in our community.

There is something so beautiful about celebrating love while also remembering a love deeply missed - and allowing Koda’s legacy to reach forward and help other old souls.

Jena and Thomas have given so much of their time, talent and hearts to the Foundation, and we are incredibly grateful to them, their family and friends for choosing to include us in such a meaningful way.

Thank you for remembering Koda by helping other old tails wag. 🌈

And congratulations, Jena & Thomas. We know one very special boy was there in spirit. 💛🐾

🌎🐾 Our Director of Grounds (D.O.G.) would like it officially noted that International Dog Day arrived at a rather inconvenient time for him. 🐾🌎

Fresh from surgery to remove bladder stones, sporting the latest in post-op fashion and currently operating under strictly reduced Director duties, he has a few requests:

More treats.
More sympathy.
Less talk about vet bills. 😳😂

But behind the floppy-tongue pics is something we see too often at Fletcher’s Keep Senior Dog Foundation - when a beloved senior dog suddenly needs veterinary care, those bills can be frightening.

🐾💛 We won’t be seeing you at Bark in the Park this weekend.

While we’re disappointed not to be joining everyone at Kelowna Made, this is absolutely the right decision with the wildfires, smoke and pressure on emergency resources across our region.

A HUGE thank you to everyone who had already volunteered to help us this weekend - we’ll save those wagging tails for next year! 🐶💛

For now, our thoughts remain firmly with everyone affected by the fires and with the incredible firefighters, first responders, emergency teams and volunteers working tirelessly to keep our communities and animals safe.

We’ll see you at Bark in the Park 2027. 🐾❤️

Kelowna Made has been cancelled.
After careful consideration, the decision has been made to cancel this weekend's Kelowna Made festival. With nearby wildfires, worsening air quality and emergency resources already under strain, putting the safety of volunteers, vendors, performers and residents first is the right decision.

We know this news is disappointing for everyone who was looking forward to celebrating together, and we're grateful to the vendors, performers, volunteers, sponsors and community partners who helped bring this year's event to life.

Our thoughts are with everyone affected by the current wildfire situation, and we extend our sincere gratitude to the firefighters, first responders, emergency personnel, support crews and volunteers working to protect communities across the region.

🚨🐾 URGENT: MORE SENIOR DOG FOSTER HOMES NEEDED 🐾🚨

As these devastating wildfires continue, animal rescues across our community are stretched and more temporary foster homes are urgently needed.

We are continuing to work with Animal Lifeline Emergency Response Team Society (ALERT) to help find safe placements specifically for senior dogs who need special care and more one-to-one attention.

💛 Could you temporarily open your home to an elderly dog?💊 Are you comfortable administering medication if needed?🐾 Can you offer a quieter, safe space and some extra TLC?

Please message us or reach out TODAY. Even short-term availability could make an enormous difference to an evacuated family and their beloved senior dog.

👇 EVACUEES WITH SENIOR DOGS 👇

💛🐾 Our community is pulling together - and it's inspiring to see. 🐾💛

Today we delivered supplies for senior dogs with special needs to the Animal Auxiliary at Kal Tire Place, who are doing an amazing job helping to ensure our oldest four-legged friends also receive the care and comfort they deserve.

To everyone affected by the wildfires: if you have a senior dog and need help, please don't hesitate to message us. Whether it's supplies, support, dog wheelchairs, or transport, we're here to help wherever we can.

A heartfelt thank you to our incredible community, fellow animal charities, rescue organizations, and the many volunteers working tirelessly to support both people and their beloved animals during this difficult time.

A special thank you to our amazing Volunteer Keepers, who are working with Animal Lifeline Emergency Response Team Society (ALERT Okanagan) to provide temporary foster care for senior dogs needing extra care and attention.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone at Kelowna Toyota - to the amazing management and staff who donated, and of course, Waffles, the dealership's fur friend and official Showroom Supervisor! 🐶❤️

Together, you raised an incredible $949.17 to help local senior dogs in need and the struggling owners who love them.

As a small, grassroots charity run entirely by volunteers, we're not always the first organization people think of when choosing a great cause to support. That's why we're especially touched that Kelowna Toyota chose Fletcher's Keep Senior Dog Foundation.

Your kindness will help relieve pain, preserve the human-canine bond, and give more senior dogs the care, comfort, and dignity they deserve.

Through the incredible generosity of ComPAWssionate Care, a donation has been made to Fletcher's Keep Senior Dog Foundation in loving memory of every cherished soul they helped peacefully cross the Rainbow Bridge.

Each name represents a life deeply loved, a family forever changed, and a legacy of compassion that now lives on by helping an old friend in need.

To the families who entrusted Compawssionate Care with such tender moments, thank you. Your beloved companions continue to make a difference.
