All Candidate Meet & Greet Date Change Notice:

The LRA hosted Candidate Meet & Greet date has been changed to Monday October 5, 2026 to accommodate some scheduling conflicts. It will be held from 630 pm – 830pm.

The location remains the same at the Eagles Hall, 921 1st Avenue.

There is a strong list of nominated candidates for council with only one incumbent, and two candidates for mayor so this is proving to be an important election. We hope to see everyone there.

We’re looking for a little help from someone in our LRA family.

Over the past year, we’ve been sharing our “Last Night at Council” posts to help residents understand what happened at Council without having to watch the stream or wade through all of the pages of agendas and minutes.

They’ve been a great way to keep people informed, but they also take quite a bit of time to put together.

So we’re wondering… is there someone in our membership who would enjoy taking this on?

After a Council meeting, the task would be to:
• Look through the agenda and/or minutes
• Pick out the things residents would be most interested in
• Summarize the important discussions and decisions
• Point out upcoming issues or things people may want to keep an eye on
• Turn it into a Blog post for the Ladysmith Residents Association

If you think this might be something you’d enjoy, or you'd simply like to find out a little more about what’s involved, send us a reply. There’s no commitment just to have a conversation.

The LRA is made up of residents who care about Ladysmith. Every time another member steps forward to help, it makes what we do that much stronger.

Happy Labour Day, Ladysmith!

Ladysmith is full of amazing, hardworking people, and today is a good day to stop and recognize all of you.

From the mill workers and tradespeople, to the office workers, store owners and employees, firefighters, health care workers, community volunteers, caregivers, and the moms and dads who somehow keep everything going you all help make our community what it is.

A lot of what we do every day can feel like it goes unnoticed. But it doesn’t. Your hard work, your time, and the things you do for your families, your neighbours and our community are appreciated more than you probably realize.

So today, lets all take a moment to celebrate you and all that you do and say a big THANK YOU!
