Sports for Special Athletes celebrates 25 years with a grand party for all the past and present athletes, volunteers, and extended SSA family. We revealed new shirts for the athletes,coaches, & and executives. There were SAWG bags that included SSA branded items and other treats and gifts. There was a demo given by . Kitchener mayor Berry Vbranovic presented us with a certificate honouring our commitment of 25 years. We had special messages from the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, local celeb country star Oncle Hans and Tex both showed up to kick off the dance party with There was lots of food and refreshments. As well as door prizes for the athletes.

We're hosting our annual Health and Wellness Fair and YOU'RE INVITED!!! It's a free, fun, and inclusive event focused on promoting well-being for everyone in our community!

I love how within Waterloo region we all hold each other up.

Congratulations to on being one of our 2025 Community Impact Grant Recipients!

Many individuals with developmental disabilities have limited disposable income for sport and recreation. This grant supports registration fee subsidization, helping reduce financial barriers to participation.

Sports for Special Athletes offers a wide range of inclusive programs, like bowling, adapted swimming, curling, basketball, floor hockey, and more. Which helps build friendships, improve memory, reduce anxiety & depression, support motor skill development, build confidence, and encourage healthy living!

This funding helps make sport and recreation more accessible for individuals with exceptionalities in the Kitchener-Waterloo region, while also giving them a chance to be part of an inclusive community! 💙
