Income Assistance intake appointments for October 2026 benefits will be held on:

πŸ“… September 14–17 & September 21–23, 2026

⚠️ ALL CLIENTS MUST BOOK AN APPOINTMENT during these scheduled intake dates.

Please make sure you have all of your current bills available to bring to your appointment. This will help ensure everything can be reviewed and processed.

❗ IMPORTANT: If you do not book an appointment and complete/sign your intake requirements during the scheduled intake days, your Income Assistance benefits may be delayed.

If you completed an Independent Assessment Process (IAP) or Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) claim, your records contain important information about the abuse or harms you experienced and how it impacted your life.

In 2017, the Supreme Court of Canada decided that these records will be destroyed in September 2027. You have until September 19, 2027 to decide if you would like to preserve or receive a copy of your files.

πŸ“’ INCOME ASSISTANCE – DIRECT DEPOSIT OPTION

Swan River First Nation Social Development is pleased to offer direct deposit as an option for receiving Income Assistance benefits.

If you would like to switch to direct deposit, please:

β€’ Complete a Direct Deposit Authorization Form
β€’ Provide a void cheque from your financial institution
β€’ Return both to the Social Development Program.

πŸ“„ Forms are available at the office. If you are unable to pick one up, a form can also be emailed to you upon request.

πŸ’΅ Prefer to continue receiving a cheque?
No further action is required. You will continue to receive your Income Assistance benefits by cheque.
