When a parent, guardian, or caregiver is diagnosed with a brain tumour, it can impact the entire family. Talking to a child about your diagnosis can be challenging, and it is completely normal to feel stress or anxiety about having these conversations.

Our guide, “Talking to Your Child: Initiating a Conversation to Disclose Your Brain Tumour Diagnosis”, created in collaboration with students from the Ingram School of Nursing at McGill University , aims to assist and support you in effectively communicating your diagnosis to your child.

Living with a brain tumour often means facing uncertainty — and you don’t have to navigate those feelings alone.

Join us for a compassionate, practical session designed to help you understand fear of recurrence or progression, recognize when anxiety needs extra support, and learn evidence-based strategies to manage these emotions in a way that works for you.

📍 Attend in person or join us on Zoom.
To participate, please sign up for the Ottawa Support Group by completing the form at: BrainTumour.ca/support-groups

Everyone is welcome, and we’re here to support you every step of the way.
