One of the most extraordinary items in this year’s Kingston Brain Tumour Walk Silent Auction is a guitar signed by three members of Kingston’s own The Tragically Hip: Rob Baker, Paul Langlois, and Gord Sinclair.

This EART E-TT72 Guitar was generously donated by Gold N Pawn in support of the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada.

The significance of this donation extends far beyond its value as a collectible. The Tragically Hip’s connection to the Brain Tumour Foundation is deeply personal. Gord Downie, the band’s beloved frontman, passed away from glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer. Their support of this cause helps honour his legacy while raising awareness and funds for those affected by brain tumours.

This year is especially meaningful, as August marks the 10th anniversary of The Tragically Hip’s final concert, a moment etched in our collective memory.

On Sunday, June 21, at the Kingston Brain Tumour Walk, you’ll have the opportunity to bid on this remarkable piece of Canadian music history.

Diagnosed with a brain tumour on January 13th, just two weeks before his 5th birthday, Jackson has shown incredible courage, strength, and resilience every step of the way.

Join us on Sunday, June 21st at Richardson Stadium as Jackson takes part in the Ceremonial Coin Toss & SuperKid Touchdown at 3:15 PM during the Gren's Tackle Tumours – Dale Sands Memorial U18 Game.

Jackson's determination and positive spirit inspire everyone around him, and we can't wait to celebrate this amazing young man with our community.
