Queen's Students for Literacy

Queen's Students for Literacy QSL is a student-run organization promoting literacy in the kingston community. Our three programs place tutors in prisons, schools and shelters.

Queen's Students for Literacy is a campus-based chapter of Frontier College - an organization dedicated to improving literacy skills and spreading literacy awareness across Canada. QSL is based in Kingston Ontario and runs with the help of volunteers from Queen's University. The QSL chapter of FC has three programs:

Read for Fun - Tutoring children in community reading circles located at various

schools, libraries and institutions throughout Kingston. The main goal of Read for Fun is to instill a love of reading in

Literacy Outreach - tutoring the children of women staying in local women's shelters, as well as older adults in the community. Math is Might - tutoring children in grade 7-9
