(No longer accepting tab donations) Tabs 4 Chirs is a charity that cashes in aluminum tabs to raise money for families in need of medical equipment for their children Tabs 4 Chairs is a charity fundraiser that cashes in aluminum tabs to raise money and alleviate the financial costs that families are faced with when trying to support their child's necessities for a happy, mobile life.
For adults, a wheelchair can last 6+ years and the Ontario government funds 75% of a new wheelchair ever 6 years. Unfortunately for children, their bodies are undergoing physical change on a yearly basis, which is not optimal for a device to last them. This is why Tabs4Chairs is keen on raising funds for children with mobility device needs. We collect tabs from pop and beer cans because they are pure aluminum, which we can trade in for cash from scrap metal companies. However, everyone is welcomed to join. We are in close relationship with a few elementary schools and sports clubs, which seem to create successful hubs for people to drop off their tabs. Start a collection from within your school, sports team or club! Once you have collected a significant amount, the tabs are welcomed to be dropped off at 114 Liddell Cres. Kingston, ON. Ottawa drop off: Carleton Disability Awareness Center on the 4th foor in University Center
Remember - the goal is over 3 years, so there is no rush to get them in. If you are out of the area please contact Brett Babcock on our page or by email at [email protected]
Together we can lighten the financial load of deserving families, promote disability awareness and equality and better the lives of children.
