On Solid Ground Hub is being created to provide unconventional support, within legal boundaries, for people navigating intimate partner violence, family violence, coercive control, stalking, harassment, elder abuse, or other unsafe relationship situations. These situations do not only happen in romantic relationships — they can also involve family members, caregivers, household members, or other known individuals connected to an intimate or family-related dynamic.

The SolidSteps app is being developed as one tool within this larger vision. For approved clients, it will provide a low-profile way to notify a real support person in real time, including location information where consent and permissions are in place, so that appropriate follow-up can happen when someone may not be able to safely reach out directly.

On Solid Ground Hub will offer immediate, intermediate, and ongoing support for people navigating these situations. This may include safety planning, documentation support, home safety considerations, court-process support, and connection to practical resources.

Where conventional systems fall short, are delayed, or cannot provide day-to-day protection, our goal is to help fill that gap with practical, lawful, consent-based support.

The On Solid Ground Hub website is now up, and I’ve been working on it between my regular job, side work, and everything else. More information will be added soon about the services we plan to provide.

Hi everyone 💜
I’m sharing something I’ve been working on through On Solid Ground Hub, a support initiative I’m building to help create practical, privacy-conscious resources for people experiencing domestic abuse, coercive control, stalking, harassment, intimate partner violence, family violence, or other unsafe relationship situations.
One of the first tools I’m developing is SolidSteps — a low-profile mobile app that functions as a simple step-entry app, with optional support notification features for approved users. While it does not contact 911, police, ambulance, or emergency dispatch, it can notify a real designated support person in real time so they can determine the next appropriate steps outside the app.
This project comes from my background in justice, law, corrections, sheriff services, and family/criminal law, where I have seen the gaps that can exist between formal systems like policing, victim services, court orders, bail conditions, peace bonds, and day-to-day safety needs.
I’ve funded the project so far myself, but I’ve now started a GoFundMe to help cover continued app development, testing, hosting, privacy/security work, app store submission, and ongoing maintenance.
