To everyone who ever supported AesthetiKsLAB; thank you.
Thank you to every member, volunteer, artist, performer, instructor, sponsor, donor, friend and stranger who walked through those doors and believed in what we were building together.
AesthetiKsLAB started from one little girl’s dream of creating a safe space where people could make art, feel inspired, and simply exist as themselves. What we created together was far beyond anything I could have imagined. It became a home for creativity, connection, healing and community.
Unfortunately, after the assault earlier this year and the robbery that followed shortly after, the safe space I built for everyone no longer felt safe for me. That realization broke my heart more than words can explain.
For five years I poured everything I had into this dream. Every ounce of energy, creativity, love and resilience went into building something beautiful for this community. But somewhere along the way, while trying so hard to protect everyone else’s peace, I lost my own.
Anyone who truly knows me knows that God has always redirected my path exactly where I’m needed most. Even when I don’t understand it in the moment; somehow every ending becomes the beginning of something new.
So while this chapter closes, I trust there is purpose in the redirection.
For now, I’m entering a semi retired era and focusing my energy on Kelowna Fashion Week and Opera Kelowna; two beautiful projects that continue to inspire me creatively and personally.
I will forever be grateful for every single person who supported AesthetiKsLAB. You helped turn an impossible dream into something real; and no one can ever take that away from us.
