On Saturday our Drake team members, Emily and Erin, joined the Butterfly Run BC. We were also honoured to provide sponsorship.
The Butterfly Run is a memorial 5K run and 3K walk occurring annually to support those affected by perinatal loss and infertility. The event brings the community together to raise awareness, foster healing, and fund local support programs.

🦋 119 registrations. Our very first Butterfly Run Kamloops. And wow… our hearts are FULL. 🦋

We have learned so much. We have felt so much. And more than anything, we are just incredibly grateful.
Thank you to every single person who registered, showed up, walked, ran, brought their families, shared their stories, remembered their babies, supported someone they love, volunteered, sponsored, donated, and helped make our first Butterfly Run in Kamloops such a beautiful day.

This community showed up. 💜

There are definitely more posts, photos, thank-yous and moments to come, but for the next week, we’re going to take a little time to wrap up some loose ends, feel all the feels, and soak in what we just created together.

And yes… because apparently we can’t help ourselves, we have already started a list of things we want to tweak for next year. 😂🦋

This was year ONE. We learned a lot, and we are already excited about what this event can become.

Our hope is to continue bringing more awareness, connection and community to Kamloops for families navigating infertility, pregnancy loss, TFMR and infant loss — because this is a club no one asks to be part of, but no one should have to walk through alone.

🦋Event Details🦋

Date: October 3rd, 2026
Location: Soccer Field 2 at McArthur Island Park
Address: 1655 Parkway
We’ll be set up at Soccer Field 2 when you arrive. There are public washrooms and water fountains available at the park.

🦋Event Day Schedule🦋

9:15–9:45 AM — Arrival & Check-In
Please arrive by 9:45 AM to allow enough time for check-in and race bag pick-up.

10:00 AM — Warm-Up
Immediately following the warm-up — Race Start!

We will also have a Comfort Corner available for families. This will be a quiet, supportive space for anyone who may need a little extra time, a moment to themselves, or some support throughout the morning. We are grateful to have 3 amazing counsellors on our comitee, they will be available to connect with throughout the event.

We can’t wait to see you all there and bring our community together for the first Butterfly Run Kamloops.
