They are most definitely a labour of love.
Some setbacks, frustrating at times, working against the weather. Plus winter came fast and hard last year.
The end result will be a thing of beauty ♥️ 2 Greenhouses built by community members, for community members. We will one step closer to having an additional local organic produce grown with love. And lots of determination..

Good afternoon,

I’m writing to inform you that the project is still moving forward in our efforts to strengthen food security and sovereignty within our community, despite the lack of funding.

We are currently building our second greenhouse and planting produce, sugar maples, white pine, and to***co, along with traditional medicines and foods that will benefit us as Onkwehonwe people. We have also placed two bee hives on site, and I remain hopeful that a swarm of bees will soon call them home. 🐝♥️

In addition, we continue to support community members by providing opportunities for individuals completing community service hours. I am on site Monday through Friday during the daytime to oversee the work and continue developing the project for the benefit of the community.

I haven’t been posting here much of the ongoing work being done, just too busy with it all 😊 I will make the effort to post more on what is happening on the homestead.
