💖 $94,000 Raised and Counting! 💖

Thanks to the incredible generosity of animal lovers across the country, more than $94,000 has already been raised through the Country for Critters campaign, with funds being shared among 57 participating rescues, including us! 🐾

But we’re not done yet. There is still ONE WEEK LEFT to donate and cast your votes! Last year, the campaign raised an amazing $130,000, and we’d love to see that number surpassed this year.

Every donation helps provide food, veterinary care, shelter, and second chances for animals in need. Plus, three lucky rescues will drive away with a brand-new Jeep Compass PawMobile! 🚗🐶🐱

When we launched the Whiskers and Wisdom program, we hoped it would quickly connect cats in our care with seniors who could benefit from the love and companionship they bring. So far, we’ve had one placement with Mr. Grey. While it ultimately wasn’t the right fit and he returned to us, it gave us valuable insight into how we can better support both the cats and the people in the program.

Now we have another opportunity.

We have been connected with a senior who would greatly benefit from the companionship of a cat. We believe Mr. Grey could be the perfect match. The only barrier is the cost of the apartment’s pet fees: a $200 pet deposit and a $25 monthly pet fee.

We’re hoping to raise $500 to cover the first year and help make this placement possible. That’s just 20 people donating $25 each.

Mr. Grey has been waiting patiently for his person. We’d love to see him spending his days watching birds from an apartment window, supervising afternoon naps, and providing the kind of quiet companionship that can make a home feel a little less empty. 🥹

🖤🤍🧡🤎Meet Katia, Princess Donut, Mongo, and Carl! 🤎🧡🤍🖤

A few weeks ago, we received a report of a tuxedo mama cat and what appeared to be her single tuxedo kitten living in a shed behind a home. The property backed onto a gravel alley and open farmland, leaving these cats exposed to all kinds of dangers.

What seemed like a straightforward rescue quickly turned into a mystery.

Over several days of trapping, we successfully brought Katia, the beautiful long-haired tuxedo mama to safety along with Mongo, an adorable long-haired brown tabby. Then a surprise appeared: Princess Donut, a fluffy little calico kitten! At that point, we still hadn’t even seen Carl, the tuxedo kitten everyone originally reported.

Finally, after plenty of patience and persistence, Carl made his grand appearance and completed the family reunion.

We’re incredibly grateful things happened in exactly that order. Had we trapped Carl earlier we might have stopped trapping and we may never have discovered Princess Donut and Mongo at all.

Now Katia and her babies are safe, warm, and receiving the care they deserve. ❤️

Our traps remain on the property because we’re not yet convinced we’ve found every cat who may be living there. Rescue work is often like solving a puzzle, and we’re committed to making sure no one gets left behind.

Meet Sterling! This beautiful young torbie girl is gentle, playful, and full of charm. While she’d prefer not to have feline roommates constantly in her personal space, she could do well in a home with respectful cats who understand boundaries.

Sisters Edwina and Georgie are ready to find their forever homes! Their three brothers have already been adopted, and now it’s their turn. These sweet girls came from a litter whose mama is still learning to trust people, but they’ve embraced the good life and are ready for families of their own. Maybe they’ll even find a home together!

Oreo is a handsome brown tabby with the softest silky coat and an even softer heart. At just over a year old, his dream is simple: a safe place to relax, cuddle, and spend time with his people. 🍕❤️ A huge THANK YOU to our amazing supporters and to the wonderful customers of Friends Pizza & Pasta calgary!

Thanks to everyone who stopped by, ordered a meal, shared our fundraiser, or cheered us on, we raised $400 this past Thursday through Friends Pizza & Pasta’s generous program, which donated 15% of the day’s sales to help the animals in our care.

Allen is eating…again. Yes it’s true, and hard to imagine, but Allen is eating, again. We’re not sure which meal this is cause he loves him some tasty wet food, and that kitten kibble…the BEST!

This chonky little man is working so hard at catching up to his older siblings.

He’s a massive 710g now. It won’t be long before he’s ready for his forever home.

Well, someone decided they didn’t want to anymore! ❤️

Our handsome, chatty little adventurer has officially headed off to his forever home, where he’s already got both canine and feline friends waiting to show him the ropes. We can’t think of a more perfect fit for a kitten who never met a stranger and wanted to be involved in absolutely everything.

Thomas was the kind of kitten who always had an opinion to share, a conversation to start, and a curiosity that couldn’t be contained. Whether you were working, cleaning, relaxing, or simply walking through the house, Thomas was right there beside you, ready to supervise.

With his stunning wildcat markings, endless confidence, and affectionate personality, Thomas won over everyone he met. Now he’ll have plenty of new adventures, new friends, and a family who loves him just as much as we do.

Congratulations, Thomas! We know you’ll keep your new dog and cat siblings on their toes and fill your new home with purrs, chirps, and endless entertainment. 🐱💙
