Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, the Kids Day planned in Grand Narrows on Saturday has been cancelled.

Although this event won’t be going ahead, be sure to check out some other great events in the area on Saturday - such as the Christmas Island Fair and Pioneer Day at the Highland Village - fun for all ages!

What a couple of weeks!

We hosted an open mic on Aug. 24, as well as provided sound for the Grand Narrows Mi’kmaw Friendship Festival on Aug. 30. Both events were held at the Grand Narrows Waterfront .

Thank you to all participants, staff and volunteers who helped make these events possible and successful.

This past weekend, we co-hosted a private party alongside the band Noises in the Attic called “Noises on the Porch.” It was a success, welcoming several local acts including RG Schaller, Mae Rivers, Mike Fagan and many more. The event also fundraised more than $850 for Mickeepers Entertainment.

We had several sponsors who helped make the event possible with donations including food and supplies. Our sponsors included Halcyon Technologies, Coopers Pond Smokehouse, Sacred Turtle Boutique and Tim and Jill Crowe. Also, a very, very special thank you to our volunteers who helped in hosting the show, working sound, preparing food and much more.

The money raised from the event will go to Mickeepers’ mission of providing quality entertainment opportunities including concerts and shows around Cape Breton, from a grassroots standpoint. In particular, we are pursuing upgrades to our PA system toward which the funds raised last weekend will help.
