The Peter Peter Pumpkin Eater Classic is happening this Saturday on 13th St! Please note that 13th St will be closed to vehicle traffic and parking from 10:30 am until approximately 3:00 pm to accommodate the event.

Not racing? No problem! Everyone is welcome to come out, watch the fun, cheer on the racers and enjoy the excitement.

Please note that you must have pre-registered to race your pumpkin by October 5. Registration is now closed and no additional racers can be entered.

We look forward to seeing you there this Saturday!

That is a wrap on the District of Invermere's 7th Annual Great Scarecrow Competition and Tour and what a fantastic year it was!

From October 1–14, our community toured Invermere to discover this year’s creative, spooky, silly and spectacular scarecrows. We received an incredible 556 votes, and the competition was strong across all categories!

🎉 The special 75th anniversary award goes to… Beddies Babies Family Childcare!
Their heartwarming entry celebrated 75 years of Invermere, recognizing the hundreds of babies who have received love and care over the years and grown up to become wonderful contributors to our beautiful community.
Adding an extra special touch, the children made the faces and decorated their scarecrows themselves! What a wonderful way to celebrate our community’s past, present and future.

A HUGE thank you to everyone who participated, created a scarecrow, helped bring these displays to life, and took the time to tour Invermere and cast a vote. Your creativity, community spirit and enthusiasm made this year’s competition one to remember!

Congratulations to all our winners and thank you, Invermere, for making this year’s Great Scarecrow Competition such a success!

The 4th Annual Peter Peter Pumpkin Eater Classic returns this Saturday October 17 to 13th St, 1pm in front of Ullr Bar! Get ready for a ridiculous and hilarious display of pumpkin powered fun as handcrafted Pumpkin Racers battle it out in side-by-side elimination races! Racers will be competing for fun prizes and the coveted Peter Peter Pumpkin Eater Classic Champion title!

Don’t miss the Gorgeous Gord Decoration Contest! From 12:00–1:00 pm, the Pumpkin Racers will be on display for judging based on creativity, originality, detail, overall design and pumpkin personality. Every racer is automatically entered, and the Gorgeous Gord winner will be announced at the end of the event. This one of a kind award is handcrafted annually by Jen at Black Star Studios.

Come down to 13th St this Saturday to cheer on your favourite racers, admire the creative pumpkin designs and enjoy a day of pumpkin powered entertainment. It’s going to be a smashing good time!

Happy Thanksgiving Weekend! Looking for something fun to do around Invermere this long weekend? There are lots of great local events to check out!

The Invermere Food & Artisans Market is happening tonight and tomorrow at the Columbia Valley Centre. Take a tour of the Great Scarecrow Competition and vote for your favourites, visit Zimmer Ranch or check out the annual Feed the Valley event at Rocky River Grill. You can also catch a Columbia Valley Rockies hockey game on Saturday and support local restaurants offering Thanksgiving turkey dinner specials.
