Hello
You are receiving this email because you or your organization’s members may have interests or perspectives regarding motorized and non-motorized access to outdoor activities (i.e. recreation, hunting) in the Kootenay region.

Please share this email and survey link with your members. The BC Ministry of Water, Land and Resource Stewardship (the Province) is seeking input through an online survey to better understand perspectives on the use of resource roads and trails (often referred to as logging or mining roads) for outdoor activities on public land in the Kootenay region. The survey also gathers feedback on regulated or restricted motorized and non-motorized access to these roads and trails to support wildlife management and conservation efforts.

Why Your Input Matters
The information collected may inform provincial access management initiatives, including:
Wildlife Act access regulation changes
Forest Landscape Plans
Land Use Planning
Road rehabilitation projects

Background
While outdoor activities can be positive for people and communities, they can also place unintended pressure on wildlife and their habitats. In sensitive or high-value wildlife habitat areas, the Province can use tools such as the Wildlife Act or road rehabilitation to regulate or restrict motorized and, in some cases, non-motorized access to help conserve wildlife, fish, and habitats.

How to Participate
Your input will provide valuable insights into the use of roads and trails in the Kootenay region and help shape access-related regulations. We encourage you to participate and share your perspectives.
Survey Duration: ~10 minutes
Survey Deadline: Sunday April 27th, 2025
Confidentiality: All responses are voluntary and will remain confidential.
