🎉 ICAN is expanding! 🎉

We are excited to announce new virtual meetings as part of our Individual and Collective Advocacy Network (ICAN). These will be starting with our ICAN Book Club beginning April 16 at 2pm. These are free to join for any ICAN members, we hope to see you there!

**World Down Syndrome Day** 💙💛

March 21 (3/21) was chosen to reflect the three copies of the 21st chromosome associated with Down syndrome. It’s a time to celebrate inclusion, raise awareness, and recognize the many contributions of individuals with Down syndrome in our communities.

This year’s theme, Together Against Loneliness, reminds us how important connection, belonging, and community truly are. Everyone deserves to feel seen, valued, and included.

At Humboldt and District Community Services, we are proud to support individuals of all abilities as they build meaningful lives, develop skills, and form connections within our community. Inclusion is something we strive for every day.

Happy Halloween! Here are some tips to keep in mind this spooky season so you can help everyone take part and have fun!

Remember, not all children communicate with mouth words, not all children can tolerate a mask or costume, not all children can navigate stairs and tight spaces, and not all children can enjoy candy due to allergies or feeding challenges. Understanding and acceptance can go a long way to make everyone have a Happy Halloween!
