Hudson Forest Play

10/04/2026

There’s something so special about letting our little ones slow down, get muddy, and discover the magic of a rainy day by the river. 💚

A beautiful week of connection, exploration, and reflection in the forest. 🍂🧡

This week, we recognized Orange Shirt Day and Every Child Matters, sharing Phyllis Webstad’s story, talking about the importance of every child feeling safe, loved, and cared for, and creating meaningful orange forest art together.

Between those special moments, the children filled their days with creek adventures, salamander discoveries, hammock time, climbing, imaginative play, beach treasures, muddy creations, and plenty of autumn exploring. 🌲🍁

A meaningful week of learning, play, friendship, and time together in nature. 🧡

Our big kids group spent the day exploring, playing by the water, breaking open rotten logs, gathering seaweed, and collecting all kinds of natural treasures.

Those finds quickly turned into imaginative play, with little shops and restaurants made from mussel shells, driftwood, seed pods, leaves, toadstools, and plenty of “sand seasoning.” 🍂

Seaweed gathering and water play were also a huge hit, with hours of creative, collaborative play.
