The Acting Out troupe is a project we are incredibly proud to see take off right here in Hantsport.
They were recently featured in an article by Carole Morris-Underhill of Saltwire - https://www.saltwire.com/nova-scotia/annapolis-valley/new-seniors-theatre-troupe-bringing-laughs-good-times-to-hantsport

This whole initiative started as an idea of Joe Callaghan championed by HABA & Avon United Church, but it really came to life because of the sheer dedication and hard work of Joe Callaghan. Joe saw the potential for a dedicated seniors' theatre group in our community and did the heavy lifting to move it from a great concept to weekly sessions at the Avon United Church.

A massive thank you to Joe Callaghan for his tireless effort in getting this running, and to every single person who has stepped out of their comfort zone to join the troupe. You are making our community a more vibrant, connected place to live.

Whilst they're on summer break now, they hope to be back "acting out" in the Fall - follow HABA or Avon United to stay in the loop.

Acting Out, which began in April 2026, offers seniors an opportunity to perform on stage without the pressure of memorizing lines.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for the Run of the River Spring Market! It was fantastic to see the community come together to support our local makers and entrepreneurs.

To our vendors: thank you for sharing your talent and hard work with us. The variety and quality of the goods on display made the event truly special. To our visitors: thank you for showing up, shopping local, and making the day such a success despite the rain.

We owe a massive debt of gratitude to Lisa for her leadership in spearheading this project. Her hard work brought this vision to life. Finally, thank you to all the HABA volunteers who gave their time to make sure everything ran smoothly behind the scenes.

We’re already looking forward to the next one!
