During the month of September, our team connected with community members, supported entrepreneurs, strengthened partnerships, and continued expanding BBI’s presence across Atlantic Canada. Here’s a look at what we accomplished:

✅ Connecting Through Sport and Culture: On September 11, members of the Entrepreneurship team attended the African Nova Scotian Heritage Game at Saint Mary’s University, connecting with community members and supporting an event celebrating African Nova Scotian heritage.

✅ Networking with Entrepreneurs in PEI: On September 24, BBI participated in a networking event and information session for entrepreneurs in Prince Edward Island, creating opportunities to connect, share information, and strengthen relationships within the local business ecosystem.

✅ Bringing RISE to Fredericton: On September 24, the RISE team hosted a RISE Seniors Social in Fredericton, bringing Black seniors together for connection, conversation, and an opportunity to learn more about the RISE Seniors Project. Ms. Rose-marie Stewart, Community Champion, and Jocelyn Stevens, Manager, Regional Growth and Client Success at BBI, shared remarks and connected with attendees during the gathering.

✅ Supporting Black Entrepreneurs in New Brunswick: On September 26, BBI participated in a program launch coordinated by AIAC NB for Black entrepreneurs in New Brunswick. As one of the partner organizations, BBI shared information about our programs and services and took part in a panel discussion on entrepreneurship opportunities in the province. Other partners included ACOA, CBDC, and AXXES Business.
