The RCMP/HRP Integrated Criminal Investigation Division is seeking information in relation to shots fired at a home in East Preston.

This morning, at approximately 1:25 a.m., RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment, Halifax Regional Police, and RCMP Police Dog Services responded to a report of shots fired at a residence on Upper Partridge River Rd., near Hwy. 7.

Officers learned that there were seven occupants inside the home -- three women, one man and three youths -- when more than half a dozen bullets were fired at the home.

No physical injuries were sustained, but a bullet did impact a mattress inside the home where an occupant was sleeping.

At the scene, officers found evidence consistent with that of a shooting.

The investigation, led by the General Investigative Section of the RCMP/HRP Integrated Criminal Investigation Division with assistance from the RCMP Forensic Identification Section, is ongoing. At this time, officers do not believe the incident was random.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact police at 902-490-5020. To remain anonymous, call Nova Scotia Crime Stoppers, toll-free, at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), submit a secure web tip at www.crimestoppers.ns.ca, or use the P3 Tips app.
