Are you looking for a simple way to contribute to the TTP’s research, education, and outreach? Well, we are looking for businesses to donate an item or experience to us for our silent auction at our Annual General Meeting this November at Horseshoe Valley!

Your contribution will make a big difference in the research we are able to complete in the future!

Any donation would be appreciated, and in return, we will promote your business by putting your business card on display throughout the entire evening!

Looking to start or scale up your beekeeping business? TTP’s upcoming in-person workshops are just what you need! This fall, the TTP is hosting three business workshops to teach beekeepers the business side of successfully operating your own queen and nuc production!

Food and beverages will be offered at all workshops, as well as a physical version of the manuals and the opportunity to ask the experts your questions!

The TTP is excited to share that we have developed three NEW courses, with in-person workshops coming this fall!!

With these courses, we hope to teach beekeepers the business side of operating a nuc and queen production. We understand that it can be challenging to start a nuc or queen production business and that there aren’t many resources currently available to help beekeepers understand what establishing or successfully maintaining a business looks like.

We are teaching each workshop in Guelph and Port Hope! If you wish to attend, please register using the linktree in our Instagram bio or through the Ontario Beekeepers’ Association Square webpage!

We are thrilled to introduce our new Research Technician, Hana Shiga!

Hana recently graduated from her Master’s of Animal Biosciences from the University of Guelph and is excited to begin her journey as a TTP Research Technician.

Although Hana has never worked with bees before this summer, she fell in love with them and embraced her new role with enthusiasm. She has been a significant help to our social media, always thinking of new ideas and helping to create new posts. We are delighted to have Hana join our team!

The TTP is excited to share that we are conducting a probiotics study where we will collaborate with commercial beekeepers to see if supplementing colonies will help them overwinter. As well as determine if the cost and effort are worth it in the end!

We are asking Ontario beekeepers to help fund this project. If you are willing to make a donation, your funds would go directly to conducting this trial! E-transfer to [email protected]

This summer, the TTP had the pleasure of working with some FANTASTIC summer students! Victor and Tahryn both made the summer an unforgettable one. Though we are sad to see them go back to school this fall, we know that they’ll both go on to do amazing things, and we’re excited to see what’s next!! ❤️🐝

Victor has contributed so much to the TTP team this year! His ambitions allowed him to accomplish so much from catching queens to writing our next Ontario Bee Journal issue. He had no prior beekeeping experience, but still handled every problem as if he did. He is also the type of person to still make you laugh after a long day of work! Thank you, Victor!

Tahryn has been such an amazing addition to our TTP team! He thought outside of the box and was able to make significant contributions by using his engineering background to create display items, bee equipment, and so much more! Tahryn was always willing to help, taking on any task, big or small, to help someone else! Thank you, Tahryn!
