The Guelph & Wellington Extra Needs Village

The Guelph & Wellington Extra Needs Village Welcome. Hello! My name is Sara and I am a Mom in Guelph, of two incredible daughters with extra needs.

I've created this space to connect Parents and Caregivers of children with extra needs in the Guelph & Wellington area, share resources and life experiences, and in the hopes we can blossom into a village of support for one another.

Did you know that we have an Education Hub filled with shareable, printable resources and quick guides that include practical tips and suggestions to help support students as they learn together in the school community?

It takes all of us - parents, teachers, principals, admin staff, classmates - to create an inclusive school experience for every child. Share these resources in your community:

McMaster University students are developing Cooking Questโ€”a fun, story-driven cooking app designed to help kids build fine motor skills and confidence through play.

Created in partnership with KidsAbility, this app is part of a student-led project focused on making therapy more engaging and accessible at home. Once complete, it will be trialed by occupational therapists to see how well it supports therapy goals and child development.

We're stepping into an exciting phase of explorationโ€”looking at what it might take to bring the app to life and imagining how it could make a difference in real-world settings.
