The Writers' Trust of Canada's Balsillie Prize for Public Policy recognizes non-fiction books that offer powerful perspectives on the future of Canada, and advance and influence policy debate. Congratulations to Jesse Winter, author of Wildfire: Dispatches From a Country Ablaze for his nomination. Thank you for your work and for joining us at this year's Festival for a powerful conversation on Canada's wildfire crisis.

Our friends at Guelph Dance and River Run Centre are just a few weeks away from presenting Svāhā! By Nova Dance! Coming to Guelph October 29th, this rich work fuses nearly 30 distinct dance traditions – from Bharatnatyam to Butoh, Jazz to Salsa – into a singular, joyful experience. Svāhā! is an event teeming with life, bursting with colour, and centering the compassion of shared humanity.

You can enjoy this spectacular show for as little as $10 with sliding scale ticket options. Plus, the evening will open with a special performance by The Body Choir – an ad hoc group of local dancers working with Nova Dance in the spirit of Svāhā! to present a new dance as unique as all the wonderful artists who perform it.

We hope to see you there!
