We had such a great time at the Growing Together conference hosted by the Otipemisiwak Métis Government this past weekend. The Photo Booth was a blast! And the generous resources we were given are amazing! Of course, always nice to run into Head Start staff!

Happy Father’s Day! 💙

Today we honour all the dads, grandfathers, stepdads, uncles, brothers, mentors, role models, and father figures who help raise, guide, support, and love the children in their lives.

Children are nurtured by many caring hands and hearts. Fathers and father figures play an important role in passing down teachings, sharing culture, building confidence, creating connections, and helping children grow with a strong sense of identity and belonging.

Wishing all those who walk alongside children in this way a very Happy Father’s Day. 💙

☀️ Happy National Indigenous Peoples Day! ☀️

Today is also the Summer Solstice, the longest day of the year and a time that has been recognized and celebrated by many Indigenous Peoples for generations.

On June 21, we celebrate National Indigenous Peoples Day and honor the cultures, languages, histories, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples.

For young children, culture is not something found only in books or special events. It is experienced through relationships, language, stories, play, connection to the land, family, and community.

Across Alberta, Aboriginal Head Start programs create opportunities for children to grow with a strong sense of identity, belonging, and pride in who they are. These everyday moments help build the foundation for lifelong learning and well-being.

On Sunday, and every day, we encourage families to share a story, learn a new word in their language, spend time on the land, connect with family and Elders, or simply take time to celebrate what makes your family and community unique.

Happy National Indigenous Peoples Day! 🤍💛💙❤️

Congratulations to the Head Start graduates of 2026!! 🎓

Thank you GPFC Aboriginal Head Start for inviting us to join your graduation celebration this weekend. It was a beautiful day filled with pride, laughter, culture, family, and community as we celebrated the children who are preparing for their next big adventure to kindergarten.

We also want to recognize the dedicated educators, family workers, Elders, Knowledge Keepers, and families who walk alongside our children every day. Your support helps create strong foundations for these children for lifelong learning.

Whether your program has already celebrated graduation or your special day is still to come, we wish all our Head Start families a joyful and memorable graduation season…. And enjoy your summer break!!

Congratulations, graduates! We can’t wait to see all the amazing things you will accomplish. ♥️
