We founded Hope for Hunger of December of 2013 and have currently held one fundraising event and are working on a second event for this winter! We really appreciate all the help we have received through our community as we rely strictly on donations. If you would like to make a donation, any cash or gift card donation over the amount of $20 will be eligible for a tax receipt. We accept donations i
n the following forms:
-cash
-gift cards
-non perishable food items
-new or gently used clothing
-new toiletries (shampoo, conditioner etc.) If you would like to make a donation please send a message through our page and we will arrange a pick up time. Our homeless numbers are rising in Grande Prairie and the number of jobs available are also slim to none. We as a community, need to work together to help the less fortunate. A warm meal is something many of us will take for granite, when as for others; it could be the first meal they have had in days. Our organization helps provide meals for the less fortunate, when we do our fundraising events we feed up to two hundred people and we also collect donations to go towards the grocery bills for the Rotary House, with a goal to raise enough money for the shelter to feed their clients on Sundays as well. Our last event we were able to feed 200 clients plus donate around $400 towards the grocery bills. This year we have a goal of $2000. I truly hope with the help of our community we are able to achieve this goal to make a difference in our community.
