Powell River, you're next. For the past three weeks we've been travelling across British Columbia talking about a simple question:
What would forestry look like if the goal was functioning ecosystems, safer communities, and stable local economies?

The attendance has been remarkable. Former loggers. Foresters. Mill workers. Local elected officials. Conservationists. People who have spent their lives in forestry - and people who have never attended a forestry event before.

Now we're bringing the New Forest Act presentation to Powell River.

This isn't a protest. It isn't a panel discussion. It's a detailed look at a legislative proposal that would replace BC's current forest laws with a system focused on ecosystem integrity, community decision-making, and long-term economic stability.

Whether you support the proposal, disagree with it, or are simply curious, you're welcome.

Come hear the presentation. Ask questions. Decide for yourself.

Tomorrow night we're in Honeymoon Bay. One of the things we've noticed on this tour is how many people care deeply about what happens in BC's forests, but also feel stuck. They've watched mill closures, watched forests disappear, watched governments announce one plan after another... and nothing really changes.
That's why we're doing these presentations.

Not to complain about the problems. Not to rehash old debates. But to talk about a concrete proposal for how forestry could work differently.

If you've been wondering whether there's another path forward for BC's forests and forest communities, come join us.

Bring your questions. Bring your skepticism. Bring a friend. See you tomorrow night, June 17, in Honeymoon Bay.

Tomorrow evening, June 16, we're bringing the New Forest Act tour to Port Alberni to talk about a different path forward - one that treats forests as critical infrastructure, restores local decision-making, protects watersheds, and rebuilds stable forestry jobs. The proposal is built around Protect–Restore–Harvest and Nature-Directed Stewardship, with the goal of creating healthier ecosystems and stronger local economies at the same time.

This isn't a protest. It's a practical discussion about what forestry legislation could look like if it were designed around communities and ecosystems instead of volume targets.

Whether you support the proposal, disagree with it, or are simply curious, you're welcome to come and hear the presentation and ask questions.
