Thanks to 25 volunteers who braved the weather today and built 50 beds for kids in our communities. A special thanks to Stony Mountain/Stonewall Masonic Lodge and Gimli Viking Lodge for their participation and donation. We appreciate your support very much.

Our first build day is tomorrow and we are excited to have a large crew coming to assist us. Our plan is to make at least 30 beds, so if you are in need of a bed for your kiddos, aged 3-17, we are here to help. Go to SHPbeds.ca to apply. Our portal is open for applications. Go to SHPbeds.ca to apply. We are here to support your family if you are in need of a bed for children ages 3-17.
We have slowly started to cut lumber and even did some sanding today. Mattresses are on order so we will be ready for a bed build day by mid May. Delivery will follow shortly after that.

Have you been looking for an organization, to volunteer some of your time with? We are needing individuals to help us in a number of different areas. We always need help building beds but we need delivery teams to deliver and set up the beds. We have to look for donations and fundraising opportunities as well. If you think you could give us some of your time, please contact me via messenger. We are a growing group and the demand for beds is growing too. Come and join us!

It’s been a long winter and we are getting anxious to start building beds again. As we don’t have an indoor facility, we have to wait for warmer weather to have a build day. We are happy to announce that our portal will open for applications on April 1, 2026. At that time, you can go to shpbeds.ca and enter your application.
We are also putting out our request for your support, to assist us in raising funds for this worthy cause. We need the support of the community, service clubs, businesses and individuals to purchase lumber, mattresses and bedding. Please consider us in your fundraising activities.
Our plan is to build 50 beds in the early spring and another 50 in the summer. Last year, we delivered 42 beds in the Interlake, during our first 6 months of operation. The need continues to be there, and our plan is to help every family, so that no child is without a bed.
