Saturday, August 29 is our LAST DAY OPEN before we close for a little break, and we’re finishing things off with our Bottomless Bag Sale! 🎉

Great to chat with Steve & Kelly (she was our photographer) about B.C. Farmers Market Nutrition Coupon program and info from Patricia regarding the rides being provided by CSWS - supported by a transportation grant from B.C. Farmers Market. A collaboration to make life easier for seniors in our area!

Stopped by the Fruitvale farmers market and picked up some fresh veggies, check it out open until 6pm!
Had a great chat with a couple of volunteers extraordinaire, Theresa with the food bank and Patricia who is driving for the Columbia seniors wellness society.

🚗💛 Big news for our Fruitvale community! 💛🚗

Thanks to an amazing partnership between the Beaver Valley Food Bank and Columbia Senior Wellness Society , local seniors can now get a ride home from the Fruitvale's Farmers Market every market day for the rest of the season!

🚗 Ride times: 3:30pm–5:30pm
📍 Just let the market entrance team know you’d like a ride, and they’ll get you set up.

This incredible initiative makes it easier than ever for seniors to enjoy fresh, local produce and connect with neighbours at the market. 🍅🥕

A huge thank you to Beaver Valley Food Bank, Columbia Senior Wellness Society, and the BC Association of Farmers’ Markets (BCAFM) for making this all possible! 🙌

Exciting news! We heard it was hard for seniors to attend the market due to heat and difficulty carrying items home!

The Columbia Seniors Wellness Society is bringing their EV car to the Fruitvale’s Farmers Market today at 4:30. They will be attending future markets from 3:30 - 5:30.

They will be providing rides home for seniors and their bags of produce and items!

Yay!

Our Outreach Meal group is in need of some 9x13” baking pans. If you have a spare, you can call 236-968-6227 to arrange for pick up OR - bring them to the Fruitvale Memorial Hall anytime after 9:00 on Tuesday, Aug 4th. You’ll get to meet the cooking crew!
