The residents of Dr. V.A. Snow Nursing Home were treated to an unforgettable surprise thanks to the incredible generosity of The Saint John Theatre Company
One resident had been eagerly anticipating attending Mamma Mia! at the Imperial Theatre. She loved the musical and knows every song by heart. Unfortunately, just days before the show, she was no longer able to attend.
Wanting to lift her spirits, a staff member reached out to a member of the cast to see if someone might be willing to stop by and sing a few songs with the resident. What happened next far exceeded all expectations. Rather than sending a single performer, the entire cast arrived at the home, ready to share the magic of Mamma Mia! with the residents.
The cast also brought a program from the show and a poster signed by the entire ensemble, giving the resident a meaningful keepsake to remember the experience.
For one extraordinary evening, the theatre came to the residents. The cast filled the home with music, dancing, laughter, and joy, creating a front-row experience without anyone having to leave their home. There were smiles, applause, and even a few happy tears as the performance brought people together in a truly special way.

Les résidents du foyer de soins infirmiers Dr. V.A. Snow ont eu droit à une surprise inoubliable grâce à l’incroyable générosité de la Saint John Theatre Company.
Une résidente attendait avec impatience d’assister à Mamma Mia! au Théâtre Impérial. Elle a adoré la comédie musicale et connaît chaque chanson par cœur. Malheureusement, quelques jours avant le spectacle, elle ne pouvait plus y assister.
Voulant lui remonter le moral, un membre du personnel a contacté un membre de la distribution pour voir si quelqu’un pourrait être prêt à passer et chanter quelques chansons avec le résident. Ce qui s’est passé ensuite a largement dépassé toutes les attentes. Plutôt que d’envoyer un seul interprète, toute la troupe est arrivée au foyer de soins, prête à partager la magie de Mamma Mia! avec les résidents.
La troupe a également apporté un programme du spectacle et une affiche signée par l’ensemble, offrant au résident un souvenir significatif de cette expérience.
Le temps d’une soirée extraordinaire, le théâtre est venu aux résidents. La troupe a rempli le foyer de musique, de danse, de rires et de joie, créant une expérience au premier rang sans que personne n’ait à quitter sa maison. Il y avait des sourires, des applaudissements et même quelques larmes de joie alors que la performance a rassemblé les gens d’une manière vraiment spéciale.
La gentillesse et la générosité de la compagnie théâtrale de Saint John ont créé des souvenirs qui dureront des années. Leur volonté de présenter le spectacle directement aux résidents a été un beau rappel que certains des moments les plus significatifs de la vie se produisent lorsqu’une communauté se réunit pour égayer la journée de quelqu’un d’autre.
