Gearing up for summer?
All safe and fun OHV adventures start by planning ahead!
📃Travel with your documents. Valid insurance, registration and license plate are required.
🗺️Plan your route in advance and check the weather.
🏍️ Ride in a group or stay in contact with someone so they know your safe.
⛑️Wear a helmet and buckle up.
👜 Pack an emergency kit, including tools.
🔥Ensure campfires are extinguished. Always check for Fire Bans or Restrictions. Clear hot spots regularly.
🧑🧒Riders under 14 must be supervised by an adult at all times.
🗺️ OHV trails are on Provincial land and can be accessed through the staging areas. Currently, OHVs are not allowed to be used anywhere in Fort McMurray, except for Municipal roads in Abasand.
📑The Abasand OHV pilot project is now permanent and we're working on plans to expand the pilot to other neighbourhoods. An update to Council is expected in the coming weeks.
