After careful consideration, HeartSpark Collective has made the difficult decision to cancel Your Second Spring: Understanding Perimenopause scheduled for May 31.

As a small, community-based organization, we are committed to creating events that are sustainable, well-supported, and able to provide the kind of meaningful and connected experience we envisioned for participants. At this time, we have determined that cancelling the event is the most responsible path forward.

We want to sincerely thank everyone who shared encouragement, support, conversations, and vulnerability throughout this process. One thing this experience reinforced for us is how deeply women are looking for spaces to talk more openly about hormonal health, emotional wellbeing, body literacy, and life transitions that are so often experienced quietly and alone.

We are especially grateful to Chloe Skerlak, Fertility Awareness Educator for her warmth, knowledge, and willingness to bring these conversations to our community. We will link to her website in the comments where you can access valuable information about reproductive health at all stages of your life.

All registered participants have been contacted directly regarding refunds.

Thank you again for your support 💛

There’s a lot of information about perimenopause online — but many women are still left feeling confused, dismissed, overwhelmed, or like they’re trying to piece everything together on their own.

That’s a huge part of why we wanted to create this workshop.

Your Second Spring isn’t meant to feel like sitting through a cold lecture or reading symptom lists off Google. It’s meant to be a supportive, approachable space where women can learn more about what’s happening in their bodies, ask questions openly, connect experiences together, and realize they’re not the only ones navigating these changes.

We wanted to share this short video from Chloe Skerlak, Fertility Awareness Educator so people can get a feel for the warm, down-to-earth, and understandable way she teaches these topics.

Today we had the opportunity to sit down with Elliot from Mac City Morning Show to talk about women’s health, perimenopause, and why these conversations matter so much.

One thing we keep hearing is how many women quietly feel like they’re trying to figure things out on their own — changes in hormones, sleep, emotions, energy, stress tolerance, cycles, and overall wellbeing — often without spaces to openly talk about it or ask questions without embarrassment or shame.

That’s a huge part of why we wanted to bring women’s health educator Chloe Skerlak, Fertility Awareness Educator to Fort McMurray for Your Second Spring: Understanding Perimenopause.

We also talked about the importance of creating supportive spaces where women can learn, connect, ask questions, and realize they’re not the only ones navigating these experiences.

And of course, Mrs. Pudding joined us for moral support duties 🐾

We’ll be sharing the interview on Friday 💛

Your Second Spring takes place May 31 at Keyano College. Registration closes May 21.

The Kinette Club of Fort McMurray is an awesome organization of female volunteers doing good in our community.

We want to say a genuine thank you to the Kinette Club of Fort McMurray for their recent donation to HeartSpark
Support like this is what allows us to keep showing up — creating a space where girls and teens can come as they are, build friendships, express themselves, and feel safe being fully themselves.
This work doesn’t happen without community behind it, and we’re so grateful to have yours.
Thank you for believing in what we’re building.

If you’ve been feeling off lately and can’t quite explain why, you’re not the only one.

A lot of women are quietly trying to figure out changes in mood, sleep, energy, stress tolerance, cycles, and hormones — often without really having spaces to talk about it openly.

Your Second Spring is designed to be exactly that kind of space.

Led by women’s health educator Chloe Skerlak, this is a relaxed, supportive workshop where women can learn more about what’s happening in their bodies, ask questions, share experiences, and leave feeling a little less alone in it all. It’s meant to feel approachable, conversational, and genuinely helpful — not clinical or lecture-heavy.

Most women are trying to figure this out on their own.

We hear it all the time — changes in mood, sleep, energy, cycles… and not really knowing why.

This workshop is designed to actually walk through what’s happening in a way that makes sense.

Here’s what’s included:

• Understanding the hormonal and physical changes happening in your body
• Talking through the emotional and mental shifts that can come with it
• What to expect in different stages of perimenopause
• Practical ways to support yourself day to day
• Space for real conversation with other women

The session is broken into three parts:
Hormones → Support → Reflection
So you leave not just understanding more, but actually knowing what to do with that information.

There’s also a guided creative piece at the end — not in a “crafty” way, but as a way to actually process and reflect on everything you’ve taken in.

If you’ve been feeling off and can’t quite explain why, you’re not the only one.

The changes in mood, energy, sleep, your cycle — they can start earlier than most people expect, and a lot of women are left trying to figure it out on their own.

We’re hosting a workshop called Your Second Spring: Understanding Perimenopause to create space for those conversations.

This isn’t clinical or overwhelming — it’s a chance to understand what’s happening in your body in a way that actually makes sense, and to sit in a room with other women who get it.

Led by women’s health educator Chloe Skerlak, the session will cover what’s happening hormonally, what to expect, and ways to support yourself through it.
