Wood Buffalo Animal Rescue Committee Wood Buffalo Animal Rescue Committee is ran completely by volunteers who have dedicated their time and love to help rescue animals in need.

Wood Buffalo Animal Rescue Committee is an organization dedicated to helping animals across the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo as well as all surrounding areas. The rescue was formed to help the remote community of Fort Chipewyan with the over population of stray animals and animals that needed to be re homed. Over the last couple of years it grew into a bigger mission and helping animals in all the surrounding area of Wood Buffalo.

She’s the calm, cool and collected sister with a serious love for mealtime! This sweet girl is happiest when there’s kibble in her bowl and affection to be shared. She loves cuddles, enjoys soaking up attention and has a quiet, gentle personality that makes her extra special.

Yesterday, WBARC spent the day in Janvier at the Career & Workforce Development Fair!

263 days and Peaches is still searching for her forever home. 💔

Peaches came into our care pregnant, and just days later, welcomed her babies into the world. Her puppies have all found their forever homes, and now it’s finally Peaches’ turn.

Peaches has been spending her time in foster living her best life—heading to the lake, playing with the kids, and hanging out with her fur foster sibling, Leia.

She’s a quirky, sweet girl with big ears, an even bigger personality, and so much love to give. She’s blossomed into a confident, affectionate pup who loves outdoor adventures just as much as cuddling with her people.

Her favourite pastime? Laying on her back and playing with her toys over her head. And of course, treats are absolutely her love language!

After being such an amazing mama, Peaches is ready to be someone’s baby now. ❤️

Meet sweet Azalea! Formerly known as Robin, this beautiful girl first came into our care as a puppy and was adopted. Through absolutely no fault of her own, Azalea has recently found her way back into foster care — and she’s settling in wonderfully with her foster family while she waits for her forever home.

At just 5 months old, Azalea is already such a wonderful little lady! She’s well-mannered, eager to learn, and knows all her basics — sit, stay, down and come!

A little more about Azalea:

🐶 Loves other dogs when properly introduced

Lucy is an 18-month-old Lab mix looking for a loving home. 🤍

Lucy is great with other dogs and gets very excited to be around them! She can be quite rambunctious and loves to play. She is similar with children — she is very excited and energetic, but she is gentle with people in general. Because she can get overly excited and jump up, she may accidentally knock someone over, so a home comfortable managing her enthusiasm would be ideal.

Lucy’s biggest challenge is severe separation anxiety. Her family has worked with their veterinarian and tried prescribed medications, but unfortunately they have not seen much improvement. Lucy does best when she has company and is very well behaved when she is not left alone.

When her family needs to be away for work, Lucy currently attends doggie daycare. Otherwise, they take her along for errands when possible or arrange for her to stay with friends who have friendly dogs.

🐶 Lucy’s ideal home:
• A family with someone home much of the time who can help manage her separation anxiety
• A home where she can receive plenty of companionship and activity
• A home with dog-friendly dogs, if desired, as Lucy enjoys canine company
• No small animals, as Lucy has a prey drive that could make living with them difficult
• A family who understands that Lucy’s excitement and separation anxiety will require patience and management

Lucy is a sweet, social girl who simply struggles with being alone. Her current family is hoping to find someone who can give her the consistency, companionship, and understanding she needs. 🩷

Well… apparently Bicks has been busy 👀📱..Swipe to see!

After THREE years in foster care, our longest resident decided he was done waiting for us volunteers to get with the times… and he took matters into his own paws 🐾 WBARC officially has a TikTok! 🎉

And apparently Bicks is running it. 😂

He says, “The volunteers have no idea I’m doing this.”
Oh, Bicks… of course we noticed. You hacked our email, created an entire TikTok account and told everyone you’re an influencer. 😂
But we’ll let it slide… cuz it might actually work! 👀

These little ladies are serving up pumpkin spice and everything nice!

🧡 C***r is the calm, cool and collected sister with a serious appreciation for mealtime! She’s a sweet, food-loving girl who’s always happy when it’s time to enjoy her kibble.

☕ Latte is the boss of the bunch! She’s always keeping her sisters in line when playtime gets a little too rowdy.

🍁 Hazel is our little ball of energy! She’s always ready to play, explore and keep everyone on their toes. If you’re looking for a playful companion, Hazel is your girl!

These sweet sisters are ready to find their forever families and fill their new homes with lots of love, laughs and puppy cuddles. 🤍
