Over the past couple weekends, firefighters from Fort Assiniboine, Blue Ridge, Goose Lake, and Anselmo have been training at the Fort Assiniboine Fire Hall in a Dangerous Goods Operations course. ☣️🚒

With seeding season underway, this training comes at a great time as fertilizers, fuels, and other dangerous goods are moving through our rural community every day.

Good luck to everyone on test day tomorrow!

Over the past couple weekends, members from Anselmo, Blue Ridge, Goose Lake, and Fort Assiniboine Fire Departments took part in a Forcible Entry & Ventilation course.

Training covered ladders, hand and power tools, doors, walls, roof work, chainsaws, and tool maintenance. Good turnout and great cross-department training.

Last night, members of the Fort Assiniboine Fire Department trained at the Fort Assiniboine Arena during a mock fire scenario 🔥

We were joined by our mutual aid partners from the Goose Lake Fire Department 🤝 with both crews working together throughout the evening.

Training focused on coordinated search and rescue 🧑‍🚒 advancing hose lines 🚒 and positive pressure ventilation 💨 under realistic conditions.

These joint training nights are an important part of building strong working relationships and ensuring we’re prepared to respond together when it matters most 👍

🔥 NFPA 1001 Level 1 – Basic Fireground Operations Complete! 🔥

This weekend, firefighters from Anselmo, Blue Ridge, Fort Assiniboine, and Goose Lake Fire Departments completed FFTP 300 – Basic Fireground Operations as part of their NFPA 1001 Level 1 certification.

This training was partially funded through the Fire Services Training Program (FSTP) grant from the Government of Alberta, helping strengthen fire service training across Woodlands County.

🚒 High-Performance CPR Training 🚒

This CPR technique focuses on minimal interruptions, proper compression depth & rate, and team coordination.

Great to see our newest firefighters training with our LUCAS mechanical CPR device, AED’s, & our LIFEPAK monitor!

Quality CPR and early defibrillation significantly improve cardiac arrest survival rates.

🔥 Congratulations to Our Newly Certified Firefighters! 🔥Six County fire members from Station 2 Fort Assiniboine, Station 3 Blue Ridge, and Station 4 Anselmo, have successfully completed their NFPA 1001 Level 1 certified fire training course! 👩‍🚒👨‍🚒

Another Haunted House in the Books!

Thank you for coming out and supporting our Haunted House again this year. With your help, we raised $1,491.65 for the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation.

A big thank you to Reliable Event Rentals for supplying the Halloween drinks and snacks, RK Mini Golf for the donated mini golf entertainment, and to everyone in the community who contributed and helped make the night a success.

We also couldn’t have done it without all the volunteers and members who put in the time to make it happen. Your support means a lot to us.
