This week our scouts, cubs and beavers had the opportunity to visit the Exeter Fire Station for Fire Prevention Week. They had the opportunity to see some of the equipment, check out the trucks and ask a ton of really good questions. They also learned how important it is to have a family escape plan and how they can test a smoke detector if they can’t reach.

A big thank you to the South Huron Fire Department for giving us this opportunity and taking the time out of your busy schedules to teach us all about some fire safety.

A huge thank you to everyone who came out and got apples during Apple Day. The scouts, cubs, and beavers were able to have a chance to engage with the public and thank them for the support we receive throughout the year. We also greatly appreciate all those who gave donations which will help offset program and equipment costs. We also need to thank all the amazing parents who helped out polishing apples and supervising groups as they gave out apples.

Today is the first of our Apple day! Come find us today 6:00-9:00pm and tomorrow 9:00am-12:00pm (or until we run out of apples) and help us give the scouts a chance to thank the community for their support throughout the year. Donations are not required but any donations received stay local and help offset supplies, equipment and camps so we can keep scouting affordable for all families.

Apple day is this Friday & Saturday! A scouting tradition dating back more than 80 years Apple Day give scouts the chance to thank their community for the support throughout the year. Donations are optional but any donations received stay local and offset costs of equipment, supplies and camps helping keep scouting affordable to anyone. This is also a great time to come ask any questions you might have about our programs or about becoming a volunteer!

Our cubs had an amazing weekend at the Dorchester International Cub Camporee at Camp BEL. We joined up with St. Mary’s for another adventure packed camp. From a foam tent and inflatable obstacle course to T-shirt printing and air brush tattoos everyone went home with a ton of new experiences.

Last night was the first meeting for our 2026-2027 year! Our Beavers, Cubs and Scouts had the opportunity to try lawn bowling at the Exeter Lawn Bowling Club. Everyone had a great evening and maybe we will have some future lawn bowlers 🤞A huge thank you the the Exeter Lawn Bowling Club for giving us this opportunity and making for an amazing first adventure for the year!

We wanted to take a moment and say thank you to Sexsmith Airport / COPA 177 for inviting us out to your annual corn roast. It was a great day despite the rain. We also want to say a huge thank you for the donations from both COPA 177 and Sexsmith Pilots ltd. for the donations to our programs. The donations and support help offset program and equipment costs to make sure we can continue to provide high quality programs for youth at a reasonable cost to families.

We are quickly approaching the start of our 2026-2027 year. We are currently full for Beavers and Cubs and need at least 2 Scouter (Leader) volunteers, 1 for each, in order to open up more spaces. If we have parents who are able to volunteer we can accept more registrations. Time commitment can be limited to just weekly meetings (approximately 1-1.5 hours) or you can be involved in the planning as well. Even part time or occasional availability helps.
