The Jaida Chartier Foundation

The Jaida Chartier Foundation - The Jaida Chartier Foundation was created in memory of our Hero, Jaida Nancy Claire Chartier.

Jaida battled Diffuse Midline Glioma Brain Cancer for 14-months before passing peacefully on July 31, 2024. The Jaida Chartier Foundation was established to fund Childhood Cancer research in an effort to find less invasive treatment methods and more effective treatments for pediatric cancer. To provide support for other childhood cancer non-profits (charities and others) to assist with their initi

atives as we jointly work to find a cure. To provide support for families who have been affected by childhood cancer and to spread awareness and education of Childhood Cancer and the devastation it causes through advocacy efforts.

We wanted to take a moment to recognize a couple participants of The Grey 5K - First Responders' Edition who led the pack in fundraising.

Coming in 1st place, collecting well over $1300 in donations was Jaida's bestie, Ava Lee. Seeing Ava continuing to show up in an effort to carry on the legacy of her bestie is heart warming.

In 2nd place, with over $1100 in donations was Kimberly Kritz. Kim, was affectionately known as Crafty Kim at the Ronald McDonald House London, and was a godsend to our family during our most trying of times.

We would also like to recognize those first response agencies and their members that took part in this event. They include:

Essex Fire and Rescue Services
Tecumseh Fire and Rescue Services
Essex-Windsor EMS
Chatham Kent EMS
RCMP
Windsor Police Services
Correctional Services
Windsor Fire

Thank you to all for making this event so unforgettable! Jaida's legacy will certainly live on.

With just over a week away, we wanted to release this year's race route.

The start and finish line will be in the same area as last year located on the ERCA trail off Thomas St. Participants will take off from this location and run/walk along the path that runs along Sadler's Pond before returning to the ERCA trail system where they will continue down the trail toward South Talbot. At South Talbot, participants will cross over to the other side of the trail that runs along Highway 3. They will proceed down this trail under the overpass with a turnaround point just shy of pollution plant.

We will have volunteers guiding the participants as they move along. The below map represents this year's race route.

We can't wait to see you there as we remember and carry on the legacy of our Jaida while raising much needed funds for childhood cancer research.
