Today we had a meeting to hear about the experience from our ryle and rypen students who went to Camp a couple of weeks ago to learn leadership skills and meet new people. Three of their kids joined us for lunch. Tenzin, Zarina, and Devin went to RYLE and Tenzin also attended Rypen.

From the sounds of things, they all had a marvelous time and really enjoyed the outdoor activities. (Especially the zip line). They also took home some interesting points of view on personalities and what makes a good leader and how to communicate with people and resolve conflicts. Thank you for coming to our lunch.

We also awarded one of our rotarians, Kirsten MacDonald, for her contribution to the rotary foundation. Every rotarian who donates $1,000 earns a Paul Harris award and every additional donation gets them towards their Paul Harris pin. Kirsten was awarded with the two sapphire pin and Paul Harris.

A couple of guests joined us for lunch. Erika and Peter who have volunteered for past rotary events. Thank you so much for coming to our meeting.

The Rotary Club of Edson donated $1000 today towards the "We got your back" program run by CEAT Community Engagement Action Team - CEAT in Edson. Bags are purchased and filled with needed essentials and gift cards for youth needing a little extra support. Backpacks are given to facilities and schools where youth may be in contact and can recognize need. The number of backpacks purchased will last a few years and are given at random and as needed. We hope the donation will help buy the last required items to fill the backpacks.

Nakamun RYLE camp 2026 attendees are headed home, equipped with newfound leadership abilities and experiences that will empower them to drive positive change. We are hoping to hear from the 5 Edson kids who went this year and how their experience went.
